I don't know how I feel about this to be honest.  Yeah it bugs me that Obama likes the guy who so blatantly sells out his own country, but at the same time, so what?

I don't care what Obama thinks.  He could think that we should open our borders completely, give everybody automatic welfare, have the rich white people pay for it and reduce our military budget to zero.

So long as he doesn't ACT on that, I'm fine with him as president.

(heheheh... irony).

vlc?

I really gotta start playing around with the programs I got. once I learn something I need I NEVER go much further. very bad habits
talk about intellectual blindside

Nothing wrong with getting comfortable with programs you're used to.  Especially since most programs cost anywhere from $40-$100 US.

I can't remember using any other program than iTunes to play my music, except, in a few rare cases, Windows Media Player.

Ever since I've been out of high school I've edited all my movies using Windows Movie Maker and when I was in High School I used iMovie.

It's good to explore and tinker, but it's not a terribly bad habit.

Fanatical hatred of Muslims is just as demented as fanatical Muslims hating everyone else.

True, but we can't ignore that there is a rather significant mitigating circumstance in this case.

Even though this incident was not the fault of the religion itself, it would be just as insensitive as the Mormons building a church where the Mountain Meadows Massacre happened, the Japanese building a Shinto shrine in Pearl Harbor and the Germans building a beer hall in the ruins of Auschwitz.

VLC has a converter built in as well - and it's actually useful as a media player.

VLC is quite good, but I think Realplayer is more user friendly.

i see the ads in the local newspaper for like $699 "complete cremation"
whatever that means? is there something called "incomplete cremation"?

Yeah, they leave the skull untouched and you use that as an urn.  It also makes a great Halloween prop.

(just lost all credibility in this forum).

But yeah, I agree. I'd rather be buried than cremated any day.  I mean I really suppose in the grand scheme it won't matter to me so much when I'm dead, but I'd like to think my body was entitled to rest.

Gun control means holding it with both hands.

Glad the Supreme Court upheld the constitution.

While I am opposed to the concept of blaming the faith for the actions of terrorists, and persecution of any religion, this does seem like an incredibly poor idea.  I can't in good conscience say no, but at the same time, I think they should reconsider.

thanks
I would of never thought of using real player. i tend to avoid that program

When it comes to playing media, it's a terrible choice, but you gotta love the free convertor.   ;)

That is another thing that is abused to the hilt.

I'm certain it is. But that shouldn't disallow honest people from collecting on policies they faithfully paid premiums upon, and yes that includes Social Security.

I actually know a woman who faked a back injury and has been collecting welfare for years.  She's a fraud and there is no way to prove it because back injuries are one of the easiest to fake (hardest for doctors to prove).

But I agree with BT.  Just because dishonest people exist doesn't mean we should hold out on those who honestly need help.

All iPod's can pretty much only read movie files in .MPG-4 format.  I think they can run .MOV and .3GP2, but .MPG4 is the most reliable.

There are numerous converters on the web, but they all cost a pretty penny.  Even the ones that claim to be "free" will either only convert a portion of the video or will have an annoying watermark in the middle of the video.

Here's what you do.

1.  Download RealPlayer SP

RealPlayer has a built-in convertor which works wonderfully and can convert pretty much any file to anything.  It also has an option which will allow you to download any video you find on the web, even YouTube (just be careful of copyright laws in your region).

2.  In the convertor, drag and drop the AVI files you want and choose the option to "Convert for iPod".

3.   Add the files to iTunes in the usual method.

4.  Enjoy.

Seriously.  You don't say that to the customers.  You say that behind their back, after they've left the lobby.   :D

But wow.  Losing an urn of cremains is pretty bad.  If my corpse needs to be moved, I'll stick with Amtrak.

No paint necessary.  Actions are all that's needed

Amen to that.

I have no problem with unemployment benefits. Everybody has hard times once in a while and their families shouldn't have to suffer for it.

I also think welfare was a good idea that was abused horribly.  We need stricter regulations on who can have these benefits and definite time barriers of I'd say no more than 6 months to a year.

I also think government health insurance should only be elligible to the employed, retired or legitimately disabled (slightly off topic).

I am the only person that I know of, outside my own family, who combines Ramen Noodles with Chili.

I cook the ramen on the stovetop as you normally would, except for I don't add the packaged seasoning until after I've drained most of the water.  I stir it up, drain the last bit of water and the noodles are good to go.

But then I add a generous portion of hot chili from a can, usually the whole can.  This works especially good with Beef, Chicken and Oriental flavored ramen.

Try it once.  It sounds terrible, but it tastes fantastic.

Is anybody shocked?  I've said it once and I'll say it again:

Fish swim, birds fly, and people in power will do anything to stay in power.

And if they can make some money off the deal, then the more the better.
