Is the best way to prevent another Benghazi debacle to make a president of the secretary that mishandled the situation that became the debacle?

You know what's funny......Benghazi is likely to be Clinton's downfall, but not for the reason it should be.  It should be about her incompotence, leading up to the attack, her ignoring all the warning and requests for added security, the immediate attempt to make this about some obscure video, when they all new this was an AlQeada-like terrorist attack.  There might have been a secret CIA faction that was going on, that they were trying to keep hidden.  Who knows.  The point being, THAT's what should have been Clinton's political spiral downwards.

But instead, with the effort the MSM played in downplaying, if not completely ignoring Benghazi, there may have not been so much congressional pressure to access what she knew and when she knew it, via her e-mail.  But as the requests kept getting ignored, that Congress had an absolute oversight right to have access to, we come to find out Clinton ditched the law to set up her own private server, while SoS.  Then every one of her claims was shot down as an apparently lie, as it relates to classified and top secret information that was definately on this unsecure private server.....that she ironically attempted to have PROFESSIONALLY WIPED, before handing over to the FBI.

Indeed, Benghazi is likely to be her political downfall, but not for the reasons it should have been

That is a good point , but we are more able to forgive when something can be over and finished.

If she had taken the full damage at the time , by being honest and contrite, she would be forgiven by now.

The cover up is about as bad and as poorly handled as it could be , it is almost enough to hide the facts , but isn't quite , so new facts keep dribbling out over and over.

I am thinking about Watergate and Iran Contra.

Hillary fits closer in style to Nixon than Reagan.

If she becomes president , I think we can expect her to appoint a Czar of stonewalling.

There has not been anyone who was open about everything in the White House since I can remember. As soon as a president mentions that he took Poli Sci 101 at this or that university, there are reporters swarming all over the place, looking for a classmate who did not like him.  No president seems to have a right to a private life.

FDR never walked one step in the White House, but this was never mentioned in the papers.

Perhaps......although it would have been politically caustic to any Presidential ambitions.....which is why she and her media minions have tried so hard to minimize and ignore it.  Unfortunately, they pushed it to the point where instead of her simply being apologetic for her functions as SoS, they're now to a point of not just her political undoing, but very possibly her legal undoing

Agreed
