Her total ignorance of basic Constitutional rights is appalling.  The prospect of someone this dumb becoming President should scare the living shit out of anyone with even minimal concerns for First Amendment rights, or basic rights of any kind.  As Glenn Greenwald points out in his own commentary (see link in original article) Palin has got this totally bass-ackward.  The First Amendment guarantees the press the right of critical commentary, it doesn't provide politicians with a shield from press scrutiny.  This babe is a walking encyclopedia of ignorance and misinformation.  What the hell was McCain thinking?

The First Amendment protects speech from government action.

So if the market abandons a media outlet for something it writes that is not an abridgment of the first.

And Palin is wrong about her rights also, but it is on par with many in here who claim their posts are subject to the first also.

It's a common misconception.
