T: if these men are "non-uniformed military combatants captured in war" and thus NOT entitled to the Geneva Conventions protection, why not just SHOOT the whole damn bunch of Islamofascist beheading barbarians

Because, unlike your twisted alternate reality of what america supposedly is, we don't do that

H: So they're POWs, then? Have they been treated as such? Given the same rights and privileges, under the Geneva conventions? Or did we treat the German and Japanese POWs we captured during WWII to the same abuses, secret prisons

Were they uniformed or were they not?  Which Country's army were they clearly representing?

L: ' It's hard to picture Haji Nasrat Khan as an international terrorist. ...Yet for three and a half years the US government deemed this elderly, infirm man an "enemy combatant", so dangerous to America's security that he was imprisoned at Guantánamo Bay.

Yea, and I hear that Usama has a pretty bad kidney condition as well.  Perhaps has a really hard time walking himself.  Best we stop trying to catch him as well, right, Lanya?  Poor fella

I would suggest to you that the genesis of racism, while an important subject in its own right, is not as important as the actual practice of racism today and that regardless of the deplorable past of the Democratic Party, it has (to its credit) largely shed that past and moved on, while the present-day party of white southern racism is unquestionably the Republican Party under its deliberately chosen "Southern strategy."

More delusional rantings I see.  Oh wait, this is that tact of validating widespread rampant racism in the south & the GOP, by viture of how little there is.  Especually how your "Southern Stragety" racaist hypothosis was abundantly demonstrarted to be horse dren.  The sad fact remains that the Racism of the south was a product of the Democats, embraced by the Democrats, and perpetuated by the Democrats.

LOL......priceless.  You point out areas where we're actually doing something about the abuses that have been noted, and again, that's your twisted thought process that validates the supposed rampant widespread Government supported abuses.  Your Anti-American pathology obvioulsy has no bounds

And yea, When the fact that the # of abuses brought up was a mere fraction of what makes up the military, your frequent focus was on how well Bush and Co is able to hide all the rest of the abuses.  All without 1 scintella of facts/evidence to prove such.  Just your severe case of foaming at the mouth BDS

Decry what?  They were treated in accordance with the Geneva Conventions, weren't they?

They wore uniforms, didn't they

if they're criminals, they're not convicted of anything yet, and if they're "enemies taken during wartime acts," then they're entitled to the same Geneva Convention protection as the Nazis taken in WWII.

Still don't get it yet, do you.  Geneva convention, when it was applied, applied to unformed soldiers captured in war.  There was no provision applied to non-uniformed military combatants captured in war.   Which again is neither here nor there, as it relates to the asanine cliams you keep making of how Taliban our current military is, in treating prisoners

Tee's basic contention, particularly with regard to the potential misconduct of secret government operations, is that lack of evidence does not disprove the allegations.

Yet you keep focusing on it, as if it does prove the allegations.  Point being, you have squat.  And when that FACT is presented you belly ache "Abu Graib", as if that changes the facts, which it doesn't, you still have squat.  And when pushed for facts to support the asanine claims of widespread military abuse and approved misconduct, you pull out the tried and true tact of how well it's kept under wraps, as if that's what validates your claims.

In other words, you still have squat

This is a NIE produced by the same groups that estimated that Iraq had WMDs, right?

I was about to say the same thing Ami.  Their connclusions were denounced as not amounting to anything credible or substantive.  So much for the Bush lied diatribe

Ever wonder if perhaps the Muslims of America can claim to be more true Islam than the Muslims of countrys where there is no choice ?

At least they have the freedom to chose.  Which includes the frredom to chose NOT to practice such, and even denounce their religious leaders without fear of being beheaded or burned

My appreciation for you being unable to refute the genesis of racism in the south, and which party wrapped itself around it, including the formation of the KKK

Revisionist History once again a hallmark of our former Impeached & Chief.  Funny thing is, WHEN was he EVER criticized for going after Usama too hard, for doing "too much" in trying to capture him??  ???   Is he trying to refernce the missle attacks on the aspirin factory?  If that's the case, he wasn't being criticized for using "too many" missiles, simply the timing of his "going after Usama"

Was there any other time he was being criticized for doing "too much", in going after Usama?

(for those who are fond Johnny Carson fans, you'll know who Carnac was).  Pretending for a moment that the Usama news is accurate, regarding his physical demise, I can pretty much predict what the response from the left will be.  Very little about Usama, and everyting about Bush.  I'd imagine rhetoric along the lines of "Bush spent how many billions on the war, and he couldn't kill Usama"..."A microscopic bacteria did what Bush and his enormous oppressive military couldn't"..."If Bush had put more resources into getting Usama, he would have been killed so much sooner.", stuff like that.  You 'll hear presious little about how great it is that Usama is dead & what it means in the war on Islamofascist terrorism (or radical militant Islam for the PC sensitive of the group), only how bad Bush was & continues to be

Let's sit back, watch, & wait, and see if I'm proved right
