WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Phillip will venture to the White House in May for an official state visit, the White House announced Wednesday. The good-will trip will mark the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Jamestown Settlement in Virginia, which was founded on May 14, 1607.

I know I am impressed with their Royal Pomposities.

I think that we should invite the Dutch Royals to celebrate the founding of New Amsterdam, and the Swedish Royals to celebrate the founding of Delaware.

Just to be fair, after all.

Perhaps she'll take us back. Clearly we aren't doing so well on our own.

Bush: "This morning my administration released the budget numbers for fiscal 2006. These budget numbers are not just estimates; these are the actual results for the fiscal year that ended February the 30th"

*sigh*
I smell something burning, hope it's just my brains.
They're only dropping peppermints and daisy-chains
So stuff my nose with garlic
   Coat my eyes with butter
   Fill my ears with silver
   Stick my legs in plaster
   Tell me lies about Vietnam.

Big whoop. He got the month wrong.

'Twas just a joke my friend. Lighten up a little.

I thought it was funnier than usual slip ups considering February's status, the standard Federal fiscal year, and that budget numbers are indeed estimates (though one would hope very well done estimates).

No big deal, I'm a Southerner too and am sure that when I speak people assume I'm an idiot due to my accent.

How many people does Juniorbush have on the payroll to avoid precisely this: sounding like an utter imbecile?

If I make a mistake, it's just me.

If Juniorbush screws up, we need to realize that there are dozens of experts on his payroll, being paid by our taxes that are aware that 2006 does not end , cannot end on February 30, and the statement was prepared by them to be read by The Great Decider, who, despite all their expertise, blew it yet again.

He makes Americans look like morons. I am at least somewhat offended.

I'm sure the piece of paper that was reading from actually said "September 30th" - which is correct - and that he misread it.

Or do you have some evidence that his notes had the month of February on them?

Okay, he is just personally stupid, since it was he who made the gaffe.

Otherwise, he is stupid for hiring the fool who made the gaffe.

I would imagine that FY 2006 should end AFTER September 2006. POliticians are more likely to be behind than anticipatory in numbering their budgets.

And you would imagine wrong. FY06 for the US Federal Government was Oct 1, 2005 - Sep 30, 2006. Today, we're halfway through the first quarter of FY07.

Go on, ask me for a source. I dare ya'.
