oh the irony....
« on: February 26, 2012, 09:39:43 PM »
Isn't It Ironic?

The food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture,
is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps ever.

Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture,
asks us "please do not feed the animals" because the animals
may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves.

The bears at Yellowstone are supposed to hunt rabbits and deer for dinner.

Do you approve of the starving poor hunting YOU for dinner? Or do you really believe that there is adequate forage for them in the city parks?

This is a piss-poor argument.

to get food ,one has to get a job and the thing is thier are less employers now then ever before. I`m looking for work now and still have`nt gotten at least an interview. i`m right now applying for jobs I don`t qualify but know I can do but know the job is very unpleasent. Meaning it`s been open for over 3 weeks. My theory the employer will ease up on the qualification and hopefully look my way. I notice alot of employers are asking alot to avoid training. I just can`t sympathize with this line of thinking since those jobs tend to not get filled quickly. It looks like it`s backfiring on them bigtime.n I`m even seeing articles on it.

kimba, I am sorry you are having such difficulty.

I reject the idea that people who cannot find jobs through no fault of their own, should not even be fed. That is bogus and heartless.

I should be good. It`s starting pickup the numbers of jobs, but part of it is kinda my fault . I`m pretty much a dinosaur nowadays. My first time looking, the building security stopped me from enetering . All I know about jobhunting 13 years agoo is no good now it`s all online. resume`s are different, cover letter`s are finally required and on the job training is forbidden. The last part is the reason businesses are complaining american`s are under qualified to work.

forgot to mention, despite my skill sets maybe old. Thier more then varied to compete with alot of the younger crowds. I`m betting everyone here notice that the twentysomthing crowds are missing cetain working skill that only exist in our generation. it`s the very reason some folks who never been to college get offered ownership instead over those college kids. I know three of such incident.

I reject the idea that people who cannot find jobs through no fault of their own

That is a bogus assumption.
many people can find work...they either don't wanna work
or they dont like the jobs they could get
they "hold out" for a better job because they know the gvt will bail them out
and it's not charity for the leftists....
firstly it's not their money to give
and more importanly it's an election strategy pure and simple.
create dependents...that expect a gvt check in the mailbox
and they'll keeping voting in their monthly Santa Claus goodies.

should not even be fed. That is bogus and heartless.

so is it 99 weeks now?
is there no limit for you?
would you feed able-bodied people forever?
while millions of illegals pour in & seem to have no problem finding jobs

whats "bogus & heartless" is to tax working soccer Moms to feed lazy bums.
a large segment could find jobs if the gvt bailout option didnt exist
for most of our county's history people made it on their own
and they will again when the immoral printing press fraud collapses.

I can imagine an eradication program for a wild animal working like that, if you flooded their environment with food long enough for them to forget how to gather it for themselves, the population would indeed be in trouble when you suddenly stopped.

Thinking it kind to feed cats little old ladies are often found with too many cats. The mistake the cat lady makes is alike the mistake the government is making , the thought of ever stopping or being unable to continue to supply sustance is not being seriously considered. Just like governments , little old ladys have hard times and they die, leaving the cats in the lurch necessacerily.

How is this tragedy avoidfable?  Arn't people capable of more sophistication than cats?

I think the best possible outcome is already seen from food support to the poor , there is little starvation, the incidence of pellegra and rickets is far down from a century ago. The worst results are also being seen, diseases of want are being replaced by diseases of surplus, are our poor not suffering from an epidemic of diseases related to obesity? Are the poor better served with pellegra or diabetus?

The government will not always be able to feed the poor, but the poor will always be there, should the government be working to ensure that the poor are helpless ?

uhm I`ve been applying for every single job I`m able to get . I`m under at lest a half a dozen agency and spent quite alot of money getting updated info on qualifying for jobs today. In fact one of the requirements for unemployment is job searching, only those in school are exempt.

Are the poor better served with pellegra or diabetus?

Diabetes is far worse. It is basically incurable.

And not everyone is on food stamps forever, in any case.

Kimba.....do you really think if you went to 100 restuarants and
asked to be a dishwasher, bus-boy, or kitchen staff member not a single
one would hire you? Do you think if you went to 100 hotels & 100 motels
and told the manager you would be the very best worker on their house
cleaning staff that not a single one would hire you? Do you think if you went
to every office janitoral company and stated you would be the very best
and show up every day none would hire you? Do you think if you went to
every call center none would hire you? Not a single convenience store
or gas station needs a dependable day or graveyard shift clerk?

How is it that millions of illegals cross into the US for jobs and most of them find jobs
but Americans that have much better language skills and are generally better educated
can not find those same jobs? Some claim they "cant make it" on the wages the illegals
are making, but how is it the illegals are making it? There is not mass starvation among
illegals, in fact the illegals seem to do well and look pretty happy to me.

There are countless job offers on Craigslist across the
country every single day and all of them are bogus?

this is just a few of the job offers in a day or two
in just one single market.....

That's all true, that's the reason why i'm applying for jobs with no knowledge of pay and still can't get work. Not a hundred but dozens of hotels ,restaurants & gas stations. Remember i'm not the only person applying.

I think I read somwhere the online application made it even more harder to find work because of easier access.

As I stated before I take partial blame for not magiclly knowing updated methods of job search.

One very annoying thing about job searching online is finding too many perfect jobs with high pay out of state. Despite that I narrowed the location criteria. It still sneaks in to taunt me

Actually only two you list works, the rest are way too far for most people to not get fired in a week.

Somehow say san francisco is a very broad meaning

I'll give them a try.

Since this presidential election cycle is all about the economy and jobs I'm glad to see that the high unemployment rate isn't the fault of the Obama administration.  It's the fault of the unemployed. They're just to lazy, picky, dependent, and so forth, to find work. Good, we can keep Obama in the White House for 4 more years than.

P.S. You're right Kimba, the application process has changed completely. I'd be lost out there now.

It's the fault of the unemployed. They're just to lazy, picky, dependent

what a crock!...but typical Leftist confusion tactics
Obama has played his role in the economy getting much worse
instead of lots of good jobs there are lots of less desirable jobs....
but still jobs...none the less
many, many of the unemployed could & would work if they had to
the problem is the Leftists buy votes by making it easier to not work
i personally know people that have told me:
"I gotta get out & start looking for a job because
my unemployment is about to run out"

if i became unemployed I would find work within 48 hours...100% no doubt.
