Is this really what it is going to be for the next four years?
I smell something burning, hope it's just my brains.
They're only dropping peppermints and daisy-chains
So stuff my nose with garlic
   Coat my eyes with butter
   Fill my ears with silver
   Stick my legs in plaster
   Tell me lies about Vietnam.

Hey, I was saying that in 2000. And it lasted 8 years.

So, should it last another 4, 8, or 16 no matter who wins?

It has really gotten ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure I said that in 2001.

I don't think I can stick around and listen to the back and forth bitching and moaning to be honest.

All of the negativity wears thin after a while. Especially when there are a lot of people who need real help out there.

Somehow I don't think the risk of that is very high!  ;D

And I can still speak highly of Denmark, so I should be OK.

I don't which "elders" have let you down, or why you think they have, but i suspect that you really really don't want to spend the next four years defending every misstep Obama makes.

To be quite blunt, BT, I count you among those "elders".  Over the last 7 years or so, you've always, in my estimation, moderate.  Conservative, erstwhile Republican, somewhat open-minded but two or three weeks ago, something happened and you got your back up and started sniping among the best of them.

This is somewhat uncharted waters for me.  For all my posting "lifetime", Bush has been in control.  If Obama wins today (knock wood), the left and right's power positions will be reversed and, should that happen and people continue to post and knock Obama, I'll certainly be here and, sincerely, I'll at least try to model my responces to those attacks or questions on what I have seen from people like JS, Missus and yourself over these years excluding the last two weeks.

It really makes no sense to me how you guys on the right are so anti-Obama.  It seems to me that you guys should be no more than indifferent to Obama especially in light of how your "team" has totally screwed you guys over.  His policies are not the radical ideas that the right-wing mouthpieces are trying to make them out to be.

I'm anti-"anyone who is anti-gun". That would include Obama.

You can count on it.

After the last eight years ... count on it.

Obama has said he is not against people owning guns. Perhaps not tommyguns or bazookas, but most guns.

IIRC, he supported the reauthorization of the "Assault Weapons" ban. That reauthorization would have outlawed my WWII-era bolt action hunting rifle.
