Don't be an ass,

Our health insurance needs to be nationalized.

Obamacare is misnamed, as Obama did not write it. Congress did.

We need single payer  insurance with the option of private companies allowed to offer policies at the same price, as is done with Medicare's health options.

And that is what we will have eventually.

There will be no going back to the horrible mess we once had, where half the country could ntpo get insurance outside of a company selected plan due to previous  conditions excluding them from everyone else.

If you think so , you must be a socialist too.

This is a major industry and nationalizing it is not the means to make it run better.

Why indeed was President Obama eager to sign this thrown together mish mash of giant proportions ? Couldn't it have been written in a think tank or even cribbed from Canada?

Obamacare is how it will be remembered whether it has much success or little , so it would have been better for the president to have guided the process to make it more coherent and more like what he really wanted.

Of course there are five to ten features of Obamacare that everyone likes . such as the features you have just mentioned , so why should the bill require thirty pounds of paper ? Because it includes hundreds of provisions that only few like, and it would pay us all to carve these down.

There are alternatives to socializing national medical insurance , and because Obamacare is clumsy and fragile , the other alternatives are going to look better.

Ownership is not related to efficiency.

The US government took over Agfa film and ran it (as Amsco) at a profit from 1918 until the returned it to the Germans in the 1980's. They were not allowed to advertise their film at all, not even the film they made for K Mart and others.

They also built and ran the Alaska Railroad at a profit.

It is when REPUBLICANS start running crap that they become awful. Like the private prison companies that Rick Thieving Scott has turned over to private companies: they send them the wimpy, healthy, nonviolent prisoners, and leave the expensive ones to the taxpayers to pay for. Lemon Socialism is what Republicans believe in.

Ownership is directly related to efficiency.

Of course it is not the only factor , but it is a big one.

Education , experience is also directly related to efficiency.

So you can expect someone with an appropriate education to take good care of his own business.

More than you can expect someone with no experience or education appropriate to the task to watch over a business that he has little invested in.

There can be a lot more factors , some unique to particular situations, some just about universal like knowhow and being personally invested.

Now you're making Plane's point.  "Needs" as opined by the left, mutates to any and everything they deem required to be "run more efficiently"....as in Socialism.  The fact that Obama hasn't nationalized everything, such as banks & corporations, doesn't ignore the effort he's pushed in nationalizing healthcare & education, now reaching into the energy & communication sectors.  Whether you think they "needed" to be nationalized is an irrelevant rationalization.  The fact is he has.....the fact is he is a socialist, just as you were hoping for

Obamacare is misnamed, as Obama did not write it. Congress did.

No, Obama took full charge of the name, when he "thought" it was being accepted by the masses.  It soon became apparent how loathed it was, across the country, and the Democrats couldn't run from what they themselves were calling it before.  It doesn't even fit its current name, since its anything but affordable.  It's kinda like trying to change the name of global cooling --> global warming --> climate change, now working on climate chaos I think.  Yea, the Northeast is sure enjoying some of that global warming, aren't they

No, the hell we don't
