Just want to get a feel for who people like as a presidential candidate on the Republican side of the aisle. I will post a similar one for Independents later on. Everyone should feel free to vote, even if they're not Republican (unlike real primaries) or allowed to vote in the US.
I think I'll be able to update the list, so if there is someone you like but don't see them on the list, let me know and I'll try to add 'em.

Where is Awnold, my twin, on this list?...lol
Adter all, I have ot vote for a man who looks exactly as I do. If you saw us walking down the street, you couldn't tell us apart! (other than his weight is distributed evenlly and mine more around my, er, midsection).

Arnie can't run for President in 2008.
Did I ever tell you guys that he lived in the apartment across the hall from my uncle in Graz?

8)

Yes, I know he can't due to his being naturalized. For curiosity, tell us about him? What did your uncle observe?
-
What did your uncle observe?
Well, he was quite young at the time. He was in training to become Mr. Universe. Very focused was the main impression.
-
I admire him for being a shrewd businessman, and perhaps, a shrewd politician.

Would Republicans really vote for Giuliani? Or as a better question, would the Evangelicals really vote for him?
I mean, here is a guy who clearly violated his marriage vows. Lived with a gay couple while he was estranged from his second wife (no, I'm not implying he is gay - but he has supported gay marriage and this would seem to indicate he has no problem with it). He's been ambivalent about abortion.
He's really a Northeastern style Liberal Republican, but has found a lot of support for his crime fighting as mayor and his face time during 9/11.
Also, did Frist's comments about the Taleban in Afghanistan hurt him?
-
I would not support him for these very reasons, but then again, put him up against some one even more left and then I am in a quandry....sigh.
-
He doesn't need to be the best possible , only the best availible.
Perfection is often the enemy of good , but I always take the best I am offered.
What can I do to cause better to be offered?

If he were the Presidential nominee, I would
-
Hmm, let's see. Hilllary or Guiliani? Oh how can I choose....NOT!!
Though I am not real interested in him as president, he is far superior to any front runners in the Democratic pool.
But to be real honest, THEY ALL STINK!!!
-
MISS KIM, YOU TURKEY, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?? :)
-
Let's bring Sam Nunn out of retirement, so I can vote Democrat, ok?
-
"Guiliani's really a Northeastern style Liberal Republican"
No he's not. He's for limited government and tax cuts. If anything, he's a libertarian.

I think a Giuliani run would be greeted with the same blackball effort that McCain received in 2000. He's far too socially liberal for the GOP base, and whoever they annoint as Bush's successor will benefit from the same widespread effort that McCain and Liddy Dole faced in 2000.
I've been very disappointed in what I've seen of McCain in the last year or so. Seems he's now only too happy to appease those who he made his reputation/persona bucking. He's clearly running to be nominated and not currently running to be President.

He (Guiliani) is far too socially liberal for the GOP base,
Don't be so sure about that. He has already said he would appoint Supreme Court Justices in the mold of Scalia and Roberts.
