The cops in Ferguson demonstrate that they know the meaning of "overkill".

I was around during the Rodney king riot in san Francisco and the protesters wacked the window behind my head on the bus I was on. lets just say very little sympathy gained from me. this situation on both sides will also get nothing from me.

The worst part of the Ferguson thing was the cop shooting the kid. The story the cops tell is lame, lame, lame. They will not even reveal the name of the cop. There does not seem to be any sort of reasonable justification.

Boy, just imagine if this amount of desire for a thorough investigation was applied towards....let's say,  the IRS scandal..or the Benghazi scandal, since the story the WH keeps pushing is lame, lame, lame.  They won't even reveal the name of the bureaucrat who told our forces to stand down or the name of the DC hack who sicked the IRS on Conservative groups/organizations.  Not any sort of reasonable justification in not beefing up security around Benghazi when asked for...pleaded for...begged for

A) you weren't there
B) the investigation needs to be thorough, and it will be...releasing bits does nothing but cause more anxiety
C) IF, the shooting was justified (I said IF, since I wasn't there either), then that wasn't the "worst part"

     Especially when it looks as bad as this incident, there is a "trial" in public opinion , and the press.

Cops in military uniforms with huge vehicles with machine guns mounted on top is certainly overkill.
The public sees that and most people can see that it is definitely overkill.
Machine guns and militarized cops in full battle regalia is overkill in any urban situation.

And by the way, it should serve to show the gun nuts that their damn guns are no match for the police these days i overthrowing an oppressive government.

There was no justification for that cop to shoot and kill Michael Brown. There is no justification to withhold the name of that cop.

This happened because one cop screwed up.

Shooting a kid dead over a box of cigars, well of course, that makes perfect sense. After all, he was Black and you know how THEY are.

And who the hell said he was "shot over a box of cigars"??  I wasn't there.....were you??  And how do I know who anyone is??  Do you think because he's Black, he must have acted the way he did??  Seriously??

   You mean that the antigun nuts are already too successful and the intent of the second amendment has been thwarted?

     I take your statement as said, it is indeed time that the public be better armed, till there is at least parity with the likely threat brought by the government.

I mean that the government has so many hugely powerful weapons that if the NRA and all its pistol-packing members rose up against it, they would be mowed down like the Lakota at Wounded Knee.
