Well, I get FREE access to the game and a FREE copy of the Game, so I am not "out" anything.

Years ago, I was involved in Quake on line and Dungeons & Dragons before that, so I have some expertise in gaming.

================================================================================
Free is good.It has ever been my favorite price.

But having THEM pay YOU would be even better. I take it you have not reached that happy state.

Yes, the contract specifies an amount. Not much, but enough to make it worthwhile to do.

How many points does it take to not be a 'noob'?
A "Noob" is a new player and is actually more a matter of behavior than points , someone who plays the game well is not a Noob, but someone who plays the game persistantly can reach highlevels even if his play is inelegant .
Quote

Is Dark Iron a place, or is that your rogue's name?
Dark Iron is a virtual place , a complete planet unto itself in which fantastic and terrible creatures virtually form relationships or slay one another , a real person may enter this realm as one of these creatures , transformed into an elf , a zombie , an orc or a human. The relm of Dark Iron is primarilarily PvP which means that the potential for deadly ambush by another player is almost constant. World of Warcraft is devided into  dozens of these realms.More realms are created now and then to prevent crouding .
Quote

I assume that "rogue" is another term for avatar.

Not exactly , the player uses an avatar but Rogue is just one of the several types of Avatar , one could be classed as a Palidan just as easily if one prefered to play in the style of a Palidin. A Rogue is lightly armored and able to move undetected amoung the other players , backstabbing , poisioning , lockpicking and getting away as if vanished is the caricteristic of rogues . Palidins are very diffrent and can majicly heal other players of their virtual wounds they can wear plate armor and attack their enemys with formidable force , rather than sneak about like a rogue Palidins tend to wear shiny and colorfull costumes and are rather vain and full of themselves prime canadates for ganking to my mind. The "race" of an avatar can be several diffrent sorts of being but all are devided in to two alliences ; "The Hoard" and "The Allience" An Allience player cannot attack another Allience caricter but must beware attack from Hoard caricters. Also on screen are "mob" and "Monster" creatures which fight players but are actually just programmed into the game themselves. Most of the advance in rank comes from killing monsters . Slaying the opposing players does not advance rank but instead produces "reputation" and "honor".

Muppette sounds a bit like a sissy name, reminds me of a cross between Smurfette and Miss Piggy.

Avatar names need to be unique and they may be anything that is not objectionable enough to get other players complaining. A player could be named Xavier_Onassis as easily as anything elese , as long as no one has already taken the name , perhaps you should hurry and claim the title before someone elese does.

Okay, this WoW stuff seems to be rather complicated. I am not sure that I would find this worth my time, as there are useful things that I am sure would entertain me as much and result in my memoirs being written, my car being improved, my stuff being better organized.

I thought the South Park show on WoW was a riot. But it was just 25 minutes long. It took me several weeks to make it through Riven, but I didn't cheat, and it was often frustrating until I tried that one last thing I hadn't thought of.

I am somewhat fond of Xavier_Onassis, which is good advice for anyone, as well as a name, but I could make up as good a name if need be.

Prime candidates for ganking?  What, pray tell is 'ganking'? I have never knowingly ganked or been ganked.

In the South Park Parody, Cartman & Co. hang out in some woods and slay mob and monster characters to amass points and immunity, but there is this one dude who seems to be undefeatable until Stan's father, a mere noob, gets a super program on a pin drive from the company that made WoW and defeats the evil dude.

I have a window of time this Friday, 6PM PST.  I'll be in the Hellscream realm, if you have a chance.  In fact, I'm gonna log in right now, and check out the status of some auction items I put up

Tecnical difficultys prevent this person from accessing the internet presently .

Oh well , it should be possible for the Professor to find experienced players , there are not a few.

It is indeed complicated , it has an ancestor in "Dungeons and Dragons" so if you are familliar with D&D you will see a lot of familiar concept.
There is no finishing this game , it is a huge playing board to begin with and you can create many diffrent avatars on a single account, each one able to gain wealth as in "Monopoly" rating as in D&D and standing in a community (guild) as in internet groups. Very high ranking players often rather than "finishing" become the shepards of their guild , escorting newer players through hasardous terrain and advising them in style of play.

Even more so do role playing style players make the game a part of their lifestyle, in their guild they behave as they imagine their character would and the exercise becomes a long running improv theater.

I can't stand Role playing more than a little , I do try to stay in character but I don't consider it important to my enjoyment of the game so I play PvP so that there is less between me and the action. I do get "ganked" (ambushed) more often that way , but this is a mutual thing I don't really mind.

A Death on the screen is a very minor tragedy , the reserection requires a long run across the countryside for the ghost to recover its body , no more than that , this is a fantasy after all.

The South Park parody didn't get the rules right , but they captured the attitude and the graphic style perfectly.

Do you realise TP that a bloodelf Rouge of medium level likes nothing better for lunch than a Human Palidin of low level?

Seriously, As soon as I got home, there was a massive mess left by our elder dog, that has required significant clearning time.  Which pushed back my dinner, which has now pushed back my WoW time.  I hope to be on around 6:20.  I need to know your character's name, so I can find you
