Change isn't always good. History is full of examples.

This won't be one of this of those occasions.

Not arguing, simply speculating as you are.  I can see where you could get confused

I am NOT speculating.  I am inferring from evidence.

You'll get back to us when your speculation of your reporter's speculation actually pans out with a little evidentiary back-up.  At this point, my speculation has just as much credibility as yours

Your side attitude is so detrimental to your arguing skills.

There's no chance of BO ever going there. Only real men and real women could handle it. You best stay down in mommies basement where it's all safe and warm. Nobody in Alaska is going to cut the crust off your cheese sandwich for you BO.

Now THAT is funny.

and.............................?  Says nor implies nothing of any blowing whistles, nor does it refute my speculation either.  In fact, it would demonstrate Obama's willingness to go after corruption, even in his own party, ala Palin, if he were to have.

Got something a tad more concrete to lay down??

After reading this, I think we may be arguing the same thing.

I was insinuating that Obama is going after corruption even in his own party.  (But, unlike Palin, NOT charging his state with per diems for days spent at home and charging the state for transporting his kids to events they didn't have to attend.)

You spoke too soon, AGAIN, sirs.  Still, they do say "MAY", so you still have what little that is.

Chicago reporter suggests Rahm Emanuel may have ‘tipped’ off federal investigators about Blagojevich.»

Marcy Wheeler catches local Chicago press reporting that Rahm Emanuel may have tipped off federal investigators that Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) was engaging in corrupt acts. Jack Conaty, a Chicago reporter for the local Fox affiliate, said on-air that Rahm Emanuel might have been responsible for causing federal investigators to act quickly to apprehend Blagojevich this morning:

CONATY: We did receive a tip this morning that perhaps all of this came together so quickly because the Governor may have reached out to Rahm Emanuel, the president-elect’s chief of staff, in attempting to leverage filling the Senate seat. And it may have been Rahm Emanuel who tipped the scale and made this move as quickly as it did.

Fitzgerald On Blagojevich’s ‘Political Corruption Crime Spree’: It Would ‘Make Lincoln Roll Over In His Grave’»

In a press conference explaining the arrest and the corruption charges filed against Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D-IL), U.S. attorney Patrick Fitzgerald — who successfully prosecuted Scooter Libby — declared the current case as a “new low.” Fitzgerald described the charges as a “political corruption crime spree.”

Noting that Blagojevich has been under investigation for years for pay-to-play corruption charges, Fitzgerald expressed his amazement that the activity would continue. “You might have thought in that environment, pay-to-play would have slowed down. The opposite happened. It sped up,” he said.

The “most cynical behavior” by Blagojevich pertained to his attempt to sell the open Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama, Fitzgerald said:

The conduct would make Lincoln roll over in his grave. The governor’s own words describing the Senate seat: “It’s a [bleeping] valuable thing. You just don’t give it away for nothing.” Another quote: “I’ve got this thing and it’s [bleeping] golden. I’m just not giving it up for [bleeping] nothing. I’m not going to do it. I can always use it — I can parachute me there.”

Fitzgerald emphasized: “I should make clear that the complaint makes no allegations about the President-elect whatsoever, his conduct.”

In his private conversations, Blagojevich indignantly referred to Barack Obama as a “motherf*cker” and repeatedly cussed him out because Obama refused to engage in the pay-to-play scheme. Blagojevich complained about giving this “motherf*cker [Obama] his senator. F*ck him. For nothing? F*ck him.”

Yet.....what would evidence does Brass have that this has anything remotely to do with Obama blowing the whistle?  Pure speculation?  This is Illinois.  If we're going to speculate, I could just as easily, and with more validity, given party affiliation, and Illinois politics in general, claim that Obama did whatever he could to keep quiet, having possibly been party (albeit indirectly) to Gov Blagojevich's governmental "tactics".

How is my speculation any wider off base than Obama having blown some whistle?

Um, maybe you didn't read my comment.  Allow me to re-type.

The guy runs down the Obama campaign by saying that they would give him their appreciation for filling the seat with who Obama liked.  I think there's a new sheriff in town.

You might want to check the article.

In a conversation with Harris on Nov. 11, the charges state, Blagojevich said he knew Obama wanted Senate Candidate 1 for the open seat but “they’re not willing to give me anything except appreciation. [Expletive] them.”

I see it. Don't know how I missed it.

As for going past D or R, we all know corruption goes both ways. However, this one is HUGE. This guy is a major crook and you can't get away with what he's done without help.

There's the question. Who else was involved.

I follow ya.  They're charging him with TRYING to sell the seat so maybe nobody was willing to pay.

Observe that Obama was skeered to go head to head with Palin in GA.

There is a difference between "skeered" and prudence.

Perhaps there are others better qualified, but Palin is not one of them.

Palin is not qualified at all. The main qualification to be a Senator from New York is to live in New York. She does not live there, so is therefore unqualified for the position.

That, I think, is true but I read a blurb yesterday that said that some people were hoping for a Harold Ford Jr appointment to that seat.  I don't know if he is living in NY or not.

And, all he would have to do is buy a house upstate and that would be that.  Palin, I'm sure could at least rent a flat somewhere.

Seriously, I think this goes beyond just D vs R.

The guy runs down the Obama campaign by saying that they would give him their appreciation for filling the seat with who Obama liked.  I think there's a new sheriff in town.

Obama has too much riding on his success for him to be mixed up in some stupid pay-for-play scheme.  If he get just a whiff of corruption on him, we'll have no african-americans in office for decades.  He's not going to f that up.

I hope.

And, Richpo, if you're leaning towards a "they never say he's a Dem in any of the articles", that's why I specifically put it in the subject line of the thread.
