Sarah Palin: Don't use our Barracuda song as your anthem, says rock band Heart

A spokesman said: "The McCain campaign respects intellectual property rights. Accordingly, prior to using Barracuda at any events, we paid for and obtained all necessary licenses."

Roger Fisher, Heart's former guitarist, initially said he was "thrilled" that the Republicans had used Barracuda, originally written about an unscrupulous record producer. However, he later said he would donate a percentage of the royalties he received to Barack Obama's election campaign.

Barracudas have a large gape and can feed on very large fishes by chopping them in half with their jaws.

Before you become too alarmed, I should point out that Barracuda attacks are quite rare. According to Barracuda expert Donald de Sylva, there have been fewer than 25 positively documented Barracuda attacks on humans during the last 100 years.

Barracuda attacks are extremely rare; one in many millions. If you encounter a Barracuda acting strangely, it would be wise to carefully retreat from the area while avoiding any jerky motions with your feet or hands.

The unique design of the BARRACUDA Class makes this boat readily distinguishable from other US submarines, particularly in reference to its bulbous bow profile (see photos below). A larger conning tower and protected bridge were enhancements that continued in subsequent class designs. Innovations regarding the placement of additional buoyancy tanks, partial double hull construction and non-circular cross sectioning were included. Further improvements to hatch design and placement plus propulsion modifications along with the B class' three periscopes were held in high regard throughout the submarine community.

In December 2006, France’s Defence Ministry awarded a contract for nuclear-propelled fast attack submarines to state-owned warship builder DCN and nuclear energy group Areva-TA. The contract’s total value could be as high as EUR 7.9 billion, and it is set up as an initial EUR 1.0-1.4 billion contract (reports vary), followed by 6 options (tranches conditionnelles) to cover development, production and through-life support during their first years of operational service.

The companies will supply 6 SSN Barracuda submarines between 2016-2027. The latest development is a technology transfer from the International Space Station….
