Republicans in four states have shown the "party of family values" is actually a party of hypocritical perverts.

Louisiana Senator David Vitter is reeling from the fact that his phone number appears five times on the so-called "Washington Madam's" list between 1999 and 2001. Vitter has also been identified as a regular customer of New Orleans prostitutes and some of them claim that he liked to wear diapers during his trysts.

There are a number of Republican leaders in Louisiana who are hoping Vitter will resign and they are proffering a deal whereby Democratic Governor Kathleen Blanco would appoint a Republican in Vitter's place. Former Republican Governor David Treen is being mentioned as a possibility. Such a deal would keep Connecticut's Joe Lieberman holding the balance of power in the Senate, where the Democrats hold a razor-thin 51-49 majority.

Vitter, if he resigns, would do so in a letter to Senate presiding officer, Vice President Dick Cheney, who WMR has been told by a number of informed sources engaged the services of the same Washington escort service in the 1990s while serving as Halliburton chief.

Next to be identified was Robert "Bob" Allen, a Florida state representative who serves as John McCain's presidential campaign co-chair in Florida. Allen was arrested in the men's room of Titusville Veterans Memorial Park after he tried to pay an undercover vice cop twenty dollars in exchange for the opportunity of performing oral sex on the policeman. Allen  has already kicked off a campaign to run for the state Senate.

Next on the chopping block was North Carolina state Representative David Almond, who resigned his seat after serious misconduct charges surfaced. Republicans are being tight-lipped about the incident involving Almond but rumors are circulating that it involved the representative exposing himself to a female aide who resigned immediately after the incident and filed a complaint with the House Speaker's office.

Then came a police raid on the Borough of Queens, New York office of Queens Republican councilman Dennis Gallagher. New York police collected DNA from the office after a woman claimed Gallagher raped her there. Gallagher is married with children. Gallagher is a former member of New York state's Crime Victims Board.

I worked with these nutcases when I was a banker ( one of the Sr Officers was actually a cousin of Dick Cheney) and was blown away( pardon the pun) when these obsessive RW perverts put Bill Clinton down for a simple innocent blow job when I had seen 10 times worse from these hypocritical  pervs with my own eyes.

But no matter how many of them are routinely exposed, there are always more blathering the same shit as if the guy who just got nailed never happened.  They're completely oblivious to the fact that guys who talk just like them are going down like ninepins on either side of them all the time.  Like a natural plague of locusts or tent caterpillars that will keep coming back no matter how many fall to pesticides or eradication.  I guess we have to look at the bright side of things - - with genuine comedy in short supply, these guys go a long way towards making up the deficit.

While we may howl, let us be brief, and watch for sticikiness.

Seems the politics as practised in DC has inevitably led to a game of All Fall Down.

Throw open both doors, and all the rats are running.

The Democrats will lose their advantage if they make themselves targets for hypocracy.  (In truth, I like the guys who prove that, at least, they got a pair, but I'm outside the box.)  

The hypocracy should be identified with the goody religious types, since that difference is trump, and move on.

I would vouch the Right has far more interintelligence and investigative capabilities, in the end, should that war break out.

That's not the point.  It's the REPUBLICANS who make such a big deal of "family values" and "saving marriage" and "good Christian home life."

Well, not to worry.

Chris Matthews quickly pointed out that Vitter's apology came across as angry and insincere, and his attending pundits stated that the Vitter matter may not go down as smooth as him all dusted off and returning to Washington to get back to work.  Their are heavy rumors that he may have signed his warrent when he urgently denied the New Orleans professionals part, salaciously noted for his wearing diapers, etc.  It is not beyond the pale to think he may have denied that part because he denied that part to his wife. 

 He intends to walk back as brass as Bush and hope people with just step aside.   Larry does his homework.  When will they learn that?



I myself thought that, though his wife came across much better, she did play the religion card by emphacizing for effect's sake that the media was waiting outside their church!  Gasp!  She still has to answer for her earlier remarks, wherein she would compare her own reactions to be cheated on with those of that blade wielding babe in the Babbitt caper, only to be contra phrased in today's cloying Barbara Cartlandisms.


Still, in the end, it is a sleazy slope, and the random career enders could easily turn up to be infeasibly costly for the accusing side.

IMHO, the Democrats would win a sleaze war of attrition hands-down, because their core supporters don't give a shit about motherhood, marriage and gay marriage whereas the Republicans take a dimmer view of "their" guys wearing diapers for hookers.  Intolerance is the Republicans' Achilles heel.  They claim to be intolerant of deviant lifestyle but they're the biggest fucking deviants of them all.

The reason is that the Republicans are depending on the voteing majority that cares about "family values" , a Democrat that depends on voters who do not care can say "so what" and fight extradition as he continues to serve in office.

I think every time one of those "family values" charlatans is exposed for the lying hypocrite that he is (and in Vitter's case, his wife also exposed as a liar and hypocrite, bonus!) another batch of Republican supporters sees the light and finally realizes that they're ALL liars and hypocrites. 

Politicians are elected to fix PUBLIC problems and run PUBLIC affairs, which personal morality is not. 

Anyone who offers himself on the basis of his personal "family values" (marriage, gay rights) is a fraud on the public since he's asking for undeserved votes on irrelevant attributes. 

Since there are so many Republicans leading the lives of closet perverts, there is an endless supply of them to be brought forward and exposed.  Each exposure chips off a little more of the Republican base as even the dumbest among them realize the increasing probability that the next man up who boasts of his "strong family values" and "good Christian home" is just another pervert waiting for the mask to fall or be torn from his lying face.

Regardless of Party affiliation, if you are elected on family values as a major campaign pledge, then you should resign immediately if you perform acts that do not fall within that stance, not just before you are caught!

"To whom much is given, much is expected" is a statement that definitely should apply here.

You are supposed to be a servant of the people and looking after THEIR best interests. Period.
