Title: The Strangers
Post by: fatman on June 09, 2008, 02:04:17 PM
A complete waste of time and money.  I walked out before I fell asleep, about an hour into the movie, nothing of any importance had happened, it seemed this flick just dragged on and on...and on...and on some more.  Messy plot, very poor acting.  I give this a quarter star.

I used to be a big time horror movie fan.
but as i get older I have no stomache for these types of movie
particularly home invasion themes
it just creeps me out
not entertaining for me

I like a good horror flick, the problem is, no one makes them anymore.  Hollywood has confused horror with gore, some of the very best horror flicks were the old ones that always cut away before you could see the blood.  Now we have special effects and get to see it all the time.

The last good horror movie made?  I'd say Saw I, though even that was pretty gory at the end.

Snow White - the one with Sigourney Weaver as the evil step mother.

I`m thinking the goreless horror may comeback .
chainsaw massacre didn`t have it and it`s a cult classic
less gore means much cheaper effects.
the trick is a talented director to get it to work.
I always thought suspense is scarier than graphics
it worked in alien
you didn`t see the creature till the very end.
