Human wave attacks still occur in modern times because humans are cheap to governments.

Robots are already in use , but not much to slay other robots, they are sharpshooting leadership.

The robot revolution has barely begun.

Human soldiers may go the way of cavalry charges.

Interesting idea , but what will the robots be shooting?

It won't always be other robots , some of our enemys can raise a man cheaper than we can build a robot.

I suppose we will have to wait and find out.

No one actually raises men to be soldiers. It takes at least 16 years, and that is far too long. Hitler gave it a try, but he got too ambitions, and his genetic German soldier program ended with the end of the war, when the would-be soldiers were in kindergarten. The ubermenschen born in Norway in this program were ostracized by Norwegian society for many years unjustly, because it was not their fault.

Palestinians are raising their population just to be counted, they don't have a need for increased manpower.

Iran has used human wave attacks in modern times , and the soldiers used were not all as much as 16 years old either.

There are several countrys in the third world where they are raising population , without bothering to spend much on them , but the worst is probly North Korea , where the only way to get a reliable meal is to join the Army. North Korea needs the worlds fourth largest Army for what?

China, South Korea and the US all have troops on their borders and would like to overthrow the regime. The regime is paranoid as well.

The US has a huge military force and has borders only with two friendly countries, by the way. No one is likely to invade the US.

So in the comic future, we will all be green cavemen because we had an army that was too small?

At least perhaps the White vs Black conflict will be ended if everyone is green.

Whoops , that did not copy as well as it should have.
I will try again.
The little green guy is several million years old, and the doctor is interested in how he copes with longevity.

A strange cartoon, indeed. It seems to require a rather extensive knowledge of the backstory to understand enough to get the joke, assuming there is a joke.

More so than Gasoline Alley or even Brenda Starr, Reporter.

Unless you like SF don't bother to read the rest of the strip, it is a full decade of dayly comics.

But since we were discussing longevity , I remembered this cartoonist had some thoughts on the subject.

His caricters have been living through the future time in which the human race invents the means of immortality and recovery from outragious injury, several of his caricters have been reduced to just the head and had new bodys grown .

The bugs that accompany the adoption of new tecnology are frequent punchlines.

Could you be the Beta tester on a method of brain repair?

I would prefer to not have my brain messed with, but I doubt that there is a lot of opportunity to engage in brain repair.

There was some study here in Miami for some new heart drug which paid $5,000. You had to live in the lab for three months and got free room and board as well. The disclaimer admitted that there was a chance that the new treatment might result in serious future health problems and perhaps death.

The cartoon Futurama  portrayed the President in 3000 as being the head of Richard Nixon in a jar.
