An actresses skill is to portray a caricter, not necessacerily a caricter like herself at all.

I wonder if it is possible to act like a caricter much smarter than onself?

I was anticipated the outrage at Hanoi Jane playing the wife of the Conservative Icon.

But she is not a bad actress and could pull it off. It's only a cameo role in a story about a WH butler who served from Truman through Reagan.

Since Ms. Fonda attended Vassar College while Ms. Reagan was trying to divine the future through the alignment of the stars, shouldn't the question be the reverse?

Fonda is a very good actress. Reagan was a less than great actress, but Fonda playing Mrs. Reagan would be no more strange than Reagan becoming First Lady after playing a prostitute or gangster's wife in the movies. With makeup, she's a dead ringer for Nancy.
\Helen Mirren (born Ilyena Lydia Vasilievna Mironoff )has played Ayn Rand in hot, steamy love scenes, Elizabeth I, The Queen and an owl named Nyra. Acting is being convincing at being other people, after all.

I really doubt that we would have won in Vietnam if Fonda had been FOR the war there. The Vietnam War was stupid, brutal and senseless. Time to stop criticizing those who realized this from the start.
