The Govenor held a capitol prayer service , praying for rain.
If he thinks it might work wouldn't he be remiss to leave it untried?
No notice yet whether he is calling any Indan tribes.
-
Might it be the cold front that was forecast to come through the area? I saw this on the Weather Channel a couple of days before the big prayer meeting.
Supposed to come through here today, by the way.
-
Or it could have been Divine Intervention? ;D
-
We received a good soaking last night.
One local wag was commenting yesterday afternoon about the governors actions and hoped the rain would hold off for a couple days. I just rolled my eyes.
Wish i had had the rain barrel installed. I would have liked to see how much was collected from the down pour.

All you need is some container with straight sides. A plastic trashcan could work.
-
What i need to do is cut the downspout . Haven't done that yet.

And the usual suspects are upset about it.
::)

Or it could have been the great Cosmic Muffin taking a huge whiz in the Bay of Bengal and shaking the leftover drops off on Georgia.

Do you worship the Great Cosmic Muffin? Is that some new age religion I haven't heard of?
-
I don't worship anyone or anything. Just seemed to me as good a reason as some sort of divine intervention.
-
I see, so you're just being condescending. I suppose it's because you know so much more than most folks.
-
Nope. I have no ambitions to the position of smug asshole. I leave that up to the likes of you.
-
I'm glad it rained.
I was very smart of the governor to pray for rain on the day that the weathermen had predicted rain.
Imagine if it hadn't have rained though. Would the local evangelistas had thought that his faith was low and turned on him?
LOL :D

He definitely does know more than some.

How so? Lack of belief is just as much an act of faith as belief.
-
I put my faith in logic and reason. That makes more sense to me than relying on some divine force, whether you call it God, the Cosmic Muffin, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
-
I put my faith in logic and reason.
And others put their faith in tradition and community wisdom.
We do agree on one thing. It is your choice believe or disbelieve. For whatever reason you choose.

So true. It would be nice if more people on both sides - well, hell, all sides - would live and let live.

Have Weathermen become dependable now?
An event like this must have required a few days planning Weathermen can't really garruntee you anything three days out.
