Since everyone dies, the cause of everyone's death is a public health issue. There is NO reason why the CDC's data should nto be released. NONE.

The reason gun violence would be considered a public health issue is because it is a public health issue. Not exactly rocket science.

Not the violence but the cause.

Low lead poisoning can cause anti social behaviour

When is the last time you were tested for lead poisoning?

Most causes for gun violence can be found in country songs. alcohol, women, drugs and money.

I am aware of the linkage of lead to lower intelligence and higher crime rates. I am also aware that lead paint and asbestos abatement programs are a slow process.

=======================================================
The frequency of various elements is the important thing, not the cause.

The same is true of the other causes: disease, accidents and suicide

Does the CDC keep track of boating accidents, street brawling and riots, traffic safety, work place accidents etc? and if they do is this a duplicate effort?

Gun violence stats by the cdc vs gun violence stats from the fbi vs gun violence stats from the batf for starters.

We dpo not know whether this is a duplication or not, because we are banned from seeing the CDC's statistics by law.

I doubt congress would pass legislation forbidding just 32 states from reporting. Perhaps congress wasn't involved at all. Perhaps the kos kids got it wrong .... again.

Or perhaps congress passed a bill changing reporting from mandatory to voluntary.

Just because you have a common subject doesn't mean all stats on the subject are going to expose the same things. Further, if you, BT, are suggesting that the NRA hasn't spent money suppressing statistics, I believe that suggestion is wrong.
