Fox tells me
« on: September 03, 2012, 11:43:04 PM »
Remember that debt clock displayed at the Republican convention?

On the news today I was informed that it will roll over 17 trillion in a day or two.

Lotza zeros, for a second.

They also said that the Democrats do not plan to display a debt clock.

Perhaps the Dems do not feel that they own this as an issue.

Perhaps Fox News seems a mite gleefull as well as fair and balanced.

I think that fair and balanced thought leads one to be a Republican , hard to avoid.

After this , is it hard to be evenhanded?

The Washington Times says 16

Debt to hit $16T in time to crash Democratic convention

I guess I wasn't carefull .

At this level the number is so hard to grasp that it seems unreal.

A million dollars takes most of an advradge career to earn and in paper form can be easily carried in a suitcase.

A trillion takes a statefull of earners years to earn and in paper could not be carried on less than a freight train.

So how can I care about a trillon more or less?

Is it real money?

Is the growth of the deficit accellerating?

It is like contemplateing a fall from a high cliff or aircraft, whether it is a half mile drop or a six mile drop, what makes a diffrence?

I guess i matters to the country as much as it matters to the average homeowner what their payoff figure would be.

Imagine the shock when you hand deliver that last $1000 check to the mortgage company expecting to recieve a lein free title and be told that Due to the vagueness of the mortgage agreement you actually owed a $100,000 more. Or more realistically your heirs would owe a boatload more.
