If you had to choose between the following Notebook Computers, which one would you choose (and why)?

The Gateway is the one to go with for a pure computer.

If you want to do things like watch programs on your TV via the computer, then go with the HP.

henny when you get either one
and if you find vista a hindrence
this is not public knowledge
you might be able to request from microsoft a disc to strip it down to xp
microsoft doesn`t like people knowing about this
but they had to make those with some of thier major clients.
so you might still be able to request it if your not satisfied with vista.

Hmm. My minor experience in the IT world taught me that major clients and corporations often DO strip back because they are not quite ready to move forward at the same speed as Microsoft. For example, the company I used to work for (in a strange combination of Accounting and "garage IT") used to strip back to NT because they weren't ready for the newer technology. Perhaps the stripping back that you're hearing about is for similar reasons?

Thanks Ami! I went with the Gateway. Ordered today, at my door tomorrow.
