Title: The most shameful statement ever? Easily the most stupid
Post by: sirs on September 16, 2010, 12:05:35 PM
Our President lamenting on why such an outcry at his insistance that the military pay for their own injuries, while serving this country

"Look, it's an all volunteer force.  Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.  I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit.  I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."
President Barak Obama

Just keep playing that clip for the next 2+ years.  Hands down beats Bush on his worst day speaking, and just adds another nail to his 1 term

Put it into the
"This would be shameful if it were only TRUE" category.
=========================

Strange that I have not heard anyone tell us that Obama was the bastard son of Malcom X yet.

If only that could be true and at the same time he could still be  a Kenyan...

Strange that I have not heard anyone tell us that Obama was the bastard son of Malcom X yet.

Why would any one?  You think a substantial % of folks would find that a credible claim??

I think paternity has been established, but I'm not sure.

I'm pretty sure he was conceived out of wedlock.

I don't believe it, of course, but I saw this in an article in the last New Yorker, by Lawrence Wright.
This is excerpted from a blog called Atlas Shrugs:

"In the dispute over Park51, the role of the radical imams has been taken by bloggers and right-wing commentators. In this parable, Pamela Geller, who writes a blog called Atlas Shrugs and runs a group called Stop Islamization of America, plays the part of Ahmed Abu Laban. Geller has already contributed to the phony claim that President Obama is a Muslim (which twenty per cent of the American public now believe is true), by promoting a theory that he is the bastard son of Malcolm X. Because of Park51’s location, Geller compares the community center (or the “9/11 Monster Mosque,” as she terms it) to Al Aqsa, the ancient mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem—a flash point for Jewish extremists in Israel."

This is a very large country and it has a sizeable number of dolts in it who will believe anything.

It's called the Elvis factor.  But of course, we may need to rename it, the Obama factor

===================================
That would be because of the huge number of completely untrue yet moronic and completely unsubstantiated things people say about President Obama, who has been given a more difficult time than any other president since maybe LBJ and gets nothing but refusals from the Republicans and stupid accusations from the ratbag reactionary right.

LOL....coming from the side that couldn't wait to impeach Bush, even before he took office, having been "selected" by a RW Supreme Court.  Riiiiiiiight        ;D

I do not recall calling for Juniorbush to be impeached until after he mongered the Iraq war.

And he WAS selected by the Supreme Court. He came in second to Gore.

What is this "coming from the side" shit? I do not represent anyone but myself.

The ratbag right could not wait to wreck Obama from Day One.

Not according to that irritating & pesky little docuement, referred to as the Constitution, but thanks for making my point.  Hardly an impeachable offense

Side of the hard core liberal, and 1st string Bush Basher

The ratbag right could not wait to wreck Obama from Day One.

The lunatic left couldn't wait to wreck Bush, even before day 1

Does the "Lunatic Left" include the Press?

I think that the Press always seemed more eager to find fault with Bush than they do with Obama.

And misquotes?

 By the bushel.

He had the gall to say this??... "Your taxes haven't gone up in this administration. Your taxes have gone down in this administration. There's a notion that, well, he's a Democrat so your taxes must have gone up. That's just not true.  I also have to make sure we're paying our bills" and not leaving debt for future generations, the president said.

Really??
