True, Nixon ran in 1960 and eight years later, to the discredit of the nation.

Reagan ran in a primary and lost, and another and won. That is not the same thing as losing the election and running again.

In the context of the 2008 election, I am pretty sure that Obama will win and run for a second term (assuming he survives the first), or this will be the last time he gets the nomination.
