I like your little cartoon of Blair with implications of Maggie.

Of course, Iran is not a tiny set of islands, nor is its military or government as weak as the Argentinian.

Though, at least we likely wouldn't be supporting the government that they are fighting against this time!

We watch & support their efforts rhetorically & publically, unless we're officially asked to assist.  If we're asked to assist we say "yes, absolutely".  Then we work out specifically what they need us to assist with, logistics?, ESM?, Special Ops?, military hardware?, air refueling?, actual boots on the ground?

Show of force doesn't hurt either

The British will likely work this out without resorting to warfare.

Though I'm not surprised it is the first idea that popped into your mind.

Good for them.  I hope they can.  You're not trying to imply that I hope they wouldn't?  That'd be a pretty egregious assumption on your part, if that were the case

Though I'm not surprised it is the first idea that popped into your mind.

That we sit back and watch, allow the British to deal with this in however way they deem appropriate, and assist only if they ask?  Well, I'm glad you're not surprised.  It sounded pretty common sense to me

I'll pass on this puerile nonsense.

Please do, such as the implication that I advocate war 1st, talk later mindset.  Just because I support use of military intervention, in no way equates to it's use 1st and foremost, damn the consequences.

Is Iran nearly as strong as Argentina?

Could Iran conduct enough of its business overland to carry on a war effort if its access to the sea was denied?

So, if it comes to conflict, do we support the Brits in any way or just watch from the sidelines?

I suggest we free the Brits in a trade.

Give them George W. and Boy Tony.

He also told reporters the Iranians had provided a geographical position Sunday that he said was in Iraqi waters. By Tuesday, he said, Iranian officials had given a revised position 2 miles to the east, inside Iranian waters.

"It is hard to understand a legitimate reason for this change of coordinates," Style said.
