The result will be that doctors will not come to the US or will arrange to meet their families elsewhere.

A doctor imprisoned in quarantine for 21 days is a doctor that is not doing anything to end the threat of Ebola to anyone fpr three weeks. This could spread the disease to places far less prepared than the US.

Your chance of dying from Ebola is statistically one fourth as likely as the chance that you will marry and divorce Rush Limbaugh.

  As Quarantines go , 21 days is not really severe.

    Couldn't we make the wait comfortable?


       I don't think it would be difficult to build a sanitarium out in the country where the persons being quarantined could be made comfortable .

    After all most of them won't be sick, provide a golf course , horses to ride , Jacuzzis, perhaps college credit courses... whatever.

    Make it four star! Pay them tax free cash!

     This might be expensive ,  but it would be hard to estimate how much more expensive fighting an outbreak in a large city would be.

  That is a valid concern , but I had individual tubs in mind, which wouldn't be very hard to sterilize.

    Stuff purpose built for hospital treatments , with easy sterilization in mind , but still a good Jacuzzi.

   This is why we ought to make quarantine a pleasant experience. Perhaps a time to catch up on reading , paperwork or continuing education.

    But a doctor who is infected would not be saving anyone by avoiding quarantine.
