Michael Brown apparently did nothing to justify the cop shooting him dead. That was not helping, either.
Marching can make a difference, rioting accomplishes nothing positive.
Yeah, sure, all poor people need to change their attitudes if they want to stop being poor.
There is plenty of blame to go around in Ferguson, MO.

People do not pay taxes to appoint neighborhood thugs.
The role of a policeman is not be be a thug. The job description does not include shooting unarmed civilians on their way to school.
Again, rioting is wrong and counterproductive, as is thuggery.
If you get bit by Bubba's pitbull, it is not the same as getting bit by the police patrol dog.
That explains the difference in media coverage.

I`m not saying the cops should get a pass on any of these incidents but I more often hear about a child getting hit by a stray bullet than any case of police brutality. I`m talking decades here. both issue should get attention but I think street violence should get more outrage

Here we have a cop, sitting in his cruiser, with his gun in his holster at his side.
Along comes Michael Brown and somehow tries to take the gun from the cop, does not succeed, and the cop shoots him when he is many yards away from the cop.
Can anyone imagine a series of actions that would make sense?
The police have not described any believable scenario and look how many days have passed.
Let them actually describe in detail, what the cops's story actually is.
So far, the cops do not make sense.

Here we have someone who wasn't there, has no idea what happened, outside of what's been reported "in detail" by the so-called victim's side...declaring as some fact that this officer was just sitting there, apparently minding his own business, and just as apparently just itching to jump some black guy ::)

in the news it posted an assault by flashlight and I automaticly think a officer did it. so we really shouldn`t deny some officers really do tarnish their rep. not really an unearned image.

I disagree.
I think it is a very unearned image.
The police have very difficult jobs.
No one calls the police when everything is going well.
The police are usually called when something bad happens.
And the police have to make split second decisions in resolving these bad situations.
The police don't have the luxury of 20/20 hind-site.
Are there bad cops?
Of course there are....
there are bad people in every profession including judges, pilots, military, lawyers, teachers, clergy, ect....

generally unearned but to certain groups not really clear cut. lets just say I`m under the group that will have a cruiser slow down when I`m around. thiers a reason I associate flashlight to police assault. I live in a world that calling the police for help is an act of stupidity and possible danger so the earned part is abit more visible. I`m not condemning the police just that those very visible few really makes life tough for others.

There most assuredly are bad cops.
There are people who joined the police force because they are essentially bullies. I have met more than a few of them here in Miami.
