Title: RNC Complains
Post by: Plane on October 06, 2008, 07:36:14 PM
Quote
The Republican National Committee filed a 49-page complaint against Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s campaign Monday, alleging Obama had knowingly and excessively accepted contributions from foreign nationals.

RNC General Counsel Sean Carincross said, "We see this as a wide-scale problem and it appears the Obama campaign may be in substantial noncompliance with federal campaign finance laws.”

Federal election law expressly prohibits political candidates from accepting any money from foreign sources.

The RNC is specifically questioning Obama’s quality controls for low-dollar contributions made over the internet, the sale of Obama paraphernalia to foreigners over the internet by the Obama campaign and pro-Obama fundraisers held in Nigeria.

Hey I recently had several very wealthy relatives die in Nigeria. I am waiting too long for the money to be remitted, I wonder if Obama got in there and intercepted some of that money?

That hasn't been true for several election cycles. I've corrected Mikey on it a few times.

At least since 2004. I think 2002 as well (or they were about tied then).

=================================================
There are contributions to the presidential campaigns of each party.
There are also contributions to the National Committee of each party.
And even 527 contributions.

All this money is spent can be spent to support a candidate.
Unless you add all of these together, and compare, you do not have a valid comparison.

And will have failed as Official Hall Monitor

Exactly. All of those are reported to the FEC. It's just the limits are different depending on the group that receives the contribution.

If the issue is who receives more, then the limits are unimportant.

I don't think anyone can rule out sacks of cash that go unreported, either.

Those exist on both sides.

Hate to be picky like ,some people I could mention  , but 2004 till now is only two national elections  and even if you add 2002 over which you are not sure , it is only two Presidential. This is hardly several and besides it looks like this one will be even http://www.cfinst.org/pr/prRelease.aspx?ReleaseID=205 (http://www.cfinst.org/pr/prRelease.aspx?ReleaseID=205)
which is why the RNC cheaters want to make a fuss. What wimps you Repuds are.

Three is several.

I sometimes think that I must have waaay too much time on my hands to quibble with a garden gnome on the internet. But then I think WAIT English must not be the poor souls first language! Perhaps I can help him communicate during his visit to the US!

One is one , two is a couple, THREE is a few. Read my lips!

Could we compromise, and call three "barely several"?

What are the outer limits of "several"?  twenty? a hundred? Certainly not more than a hundred, even of something small, like pins or B-Bs.
