Adam Hasner Takes Aim at Alex Sink Over Felons Selling InsuranceKevin Derby's blog | Posted: October 14, 2010 3:17 PM

Joined by State Attorney Angela Corey, Jacksonville City Councilman Richard Clarke and Rep. Mike Weinstein, R-Orange Park, House Majority Leader Adam Hasner, R-Delray Beach, took aim at state CFO Alex Sink, the Democratic gubernatorial nominee, for allowing 11 felons to sell insurance in Florida.

"We?re here this morning to discuss Alex Sink?s role in the licensing of convicted felons to do business in Florida?s insurance industry,? said Hasner. "What we know so far is that she has granted licensure to at least 11 ex-felons convicted of financial crimes and crimes of dishonesty. And more to the point, this is about Alex Sink?s poor judgment as CFO and also an example of her being a typical politician by saying one thing and doing another. And also refusing to be accountable and failing to accept responsibility. Because as you recall, Alex Sink voted to fire former Department of Financial Services Chairman Don Saxon for granting mortgage licenses to convicted criminals. And at the time, Alex Sink was quoted as saying, ?in cases where someone has already been convicted of financial fraud, there are no second chances.? Let?s also recall that Alex Sink expressed her outrage at that time and wanted Saxon?s head on a platter, but now she does not want to be held to the same standards.

?This is an open-and-shut case of hypocrisy and one that has put Floridians at financial risk,? insisted Hasner. ?We believe at this time that Floridians deserve to know more about the facts of this situation, of this story, and are calling for her office to release all documents related to convicted felons who have been granted licensure on her watch."

With XO's endorsement, what could go wrong?

The Republican candidate is the greater thief. Rick Scott bought the election. Sink has done a highly competent job in public office, and this is just crap they are laying on her.

What has she done that was so competent? She licensed convicted felons to sell insurance. By her own standards she should have been fired.

And yet, with a Republican dominated legislature, no one heard of this until Rick Scott hired some clowns to dig up dirt on her.

She did not deliberately hire crooks. She did not hire anyone, this was an approval process involving hundreds of applications.

Note that at no time did Sink have to take the Fifth Amendment even once: Scott did this over 70 times.Scott bailed on a huge healthcare company that went under due to massive fraud, and he took millions of dollars with him.

Scott IS a crook. That is worse than inadvertently issuing a permit to a previously convicted person.

Scott wants to save money by closing prisons and setting the prisoners free, by the way.

This was her job, which she was supposed to be in charge. These are convicted felons dealing with people's personal financial information. You can't say she did a "highly competent" job, when she fell down on the job.

XO has some explaining to do on why he endorsed this candidate. The Miami Herald has unearthed:

? In the late 1990s, Sink was on the audit board of Sykes Enterprises, a Tampa-based call center, when it was sued by investors for improper accounting procedures. Sink said she was unaware of the problems.

? As a member of the board that oversees state investments, Sink didn't object to some questionable transactions, notably the $266 million Peter Cooper Village real estate debacle, until the investments went south.

? While she was president of NationsBank Florida, the bank's parent company paid a $6.7 million fine for hoodwinking customers into buying high-risk securities. Sink said she had nothing to do it, because the suspect activity was ordered by her superiors.

It must have been XO's endorsement:

Republican Rick Scott now leads Democrat Alex Sink by six points in the race to be Florida's next governor. It's the widest gap between the candidates in six months of polling.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Florida shows Scott with 50% support for the second survey in a row. Sink, the state's elected chief financial officer, earns 44% of the vote.

Scott is a farce. If he is elected, he will screw things up, not create jobs. It will also provoke other ignoramus "businessmen" to run for office by buying the election.

So, people who actually elect politicians apparently don't exist where Xo lives.  Political office is merely a negotiated price between........some mysterious benefactor(s).  Someone needs to pass this location on to John Kerry & John Edwards
