I don`t understand is how on earth do classrooms allow student to use their cells???
am I missing something here??
I understand parents needing tobe in contact with their kids.
but discretion should obviously be applied.

It's like taking a book with you everywhere and reading.  NOW I get it.
(I don't have a cell phone.  Have book, will travel.)

The public school system here does not allow thier use and will confiscate them, if it happens.

In my college classroom, I don't have an issue with it as long as it is not disruptive. It is expected that there better not be a call unless it is an emergency. I have never had a problem with this unofficial policy.
