War

When is it justified?

WW2 was justified. Men died for a "cause". What makes this Iraqi war any different?

Terrorism has been on the planet since Cain and Abel. . . . .

Since Liberal vs Conserv. ha!

Ken Burns' epic War" is fascinating, indeed. THE WAR touched everyone of us.....why does war have to touch us all?
Why can't peace touch us with such force?

Who's to say that the new War won't be right under our noses?

I think we are in a place to watch out! Iran, Iraq, Syriah, Jordan....Lybia....hell.....even the quaint town of Juarez....rages war.

Who among you thinks that our borders are secure? Come on......we are so open ended....we are bound to get it again.

There will be another FIGHT to end all fights. History will spill the beans.

The warrior is the hero and the best politician among us.

period.

The rest of the horses  dead or alive...are GRAVY
IN ANY LANGUAGE, CULTURE....the Navajo fought with a mission unlike most.

It doesn't always work that way. I am anti-abortion, as well as anti-death penalty... and yet I lean left in other matters. Go figure.

Also, 3000 Americans are not the only victims of war.

Like Henny, I am also against abortion and capital punishment. I don't see how that makes someone pro-war though? In fact, that logic seems bizarre.

Yes it does
just because it does not apply to you and JS("just silly"), does not mean "it doesn't work that way"
it is a fact that many of the leftist that oppose the war and are screaming the loudest about the "loss of life"
are the exact same people that don't seem to care that 12 million lives have been lost to abortion

I think it is more like 46 million abortions performed worldwide...but what would I know? I'm "just silly."

JS (just socialist?) this cartoon is obviously for and about Americans in regard to the Iraq War and abortion
still the horror of 46 million is staggering
thank you for the horrifying number

Just wondering if the anti-abortion activists work just as hard to stop the killings of real people in wars as they do to stop the so-called "killings" of zygotes, blastocysts and fetuses in abortions.  Or does their passion for "human life" show some discrimination in favour of the brainless, spineless and/or boneless kind of human life?

Another thing I was wondering, about the pro-war anti-abortion folks, if they think it's OK to kill evil Arabs who want to deny "democracy" to the Middle East and hate America, do they also think it's OK to kill evil abortionists who actually "murder" countless millions of zygotes, blastocysts, etc.?

Just askin.

No, it shows some discrimination in favor of survival. Protecting your offspring and killing your competitors is usually an pretty good strategy for that. From a Darwinian perspective, it makes a lot of sense.
