The main problem with Newt
« on: May 19, 2011, 01:36:05 PM »
The problem with Newt and why he is so deeply despised is that he always says everything in such a way as to cause major impact.

He COULD SAY that Ryan's budget needed some work. Everyone pretty much agrees with this.

But he just had to call it "right wing social engineering", which is spot on correct, but also sure to irritate almost the entire party.

Newt was a professor. As a professor, the task is to say things in such a way so the class will remember the major points.

Remember that in Spanish "to be" is not enough: there are two words for to be SER and ESTAR.

The Great Lakes names are our HOMES: Huron Ontario, Michigan, Erie, Superior.

A political leader can do this sometimes, but controversial issues must be addressed with tact and a way of showing understanding for other people's sensibilities. Avoid buzzwords.

Gingrich does not seem to understand a need for tact. That is why he should not be allowed near the White House.

Call Putin a dictator and perhaps it is true, but doing so will annoy the Russians,  and require backing down, so avoid such statements. Save the moments of annoyance for the memoirs.

"Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana."
