If verbal she qualifed and clarified. Stream of thought. In this case it is the entire statement that counts, she didn't insert the period, the reporter did, could have just as easily been a comma or a semi colon.

Make whatever excuse you want. She said it. She either stands by it or she doesn't. Either way, not much chance of getting my vote. If you want to figure out a way to justify it in your own mind, be my guest.

Certainly, and it is my right to be leery of people who invoke God's will as a reason to go to war, and especially leery of people who do so then don't have the conviction to stand by their statements.
