Let no one mistake my meaning.

Hillary's response to pipeline protest.

Quote
We received a letter today from representatives of the tribes protesting the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. From the beginning of this campaign, Secretary Clinton has been clear that she thinks all voices should be heard and all views considered in federal infrastructure projects. Now, all of the parties involved—including the federal government, the pipeline company and contractors, the state of North Dakota, and the tribes—need to find a path forward that serves the broadest public interest. As that happens, it's important that on the ground in North Dakota, everyone respects demonstrators' rights to protest peacefully, and workers' rights to do their jobs safely.

What she is saying is that laws and tights should be respected and an agreement should be reached. I think this is possible4, and so does she.

Well , shouldn't all voices be heard?
Shouldn't the laws be obeyed?

Why should she take a particular stand? If she were president, she should not take sides.

Yes , this must be the exact same thing that President Kennedy was saying when Dr.Martin Luther King Jr was marching on Selma.

It was not and you know it was not.

JFK was assassinated on Nov 22, 1963.
The Selma march was in early March, 1965,

It was illegal for Alabama to deny citizens the right to vote.

The pipeline is legal.  The dispute is over possible risks of it leaking.

There is no real comparison.

That's fair ,I admit my timeline error.

Still it was entirely legal to impose poll tax, literacy tests and Jim Crow nonsense that impeded Americans from exercising their rights.

It may have been a violation of their natural rights, but Jim Crow was legitimately on the books.
