And that is somehow illegal? Immoral?

No, and no.

Isn't Penn & Teller's thing emotional dislike of hippies and others as well?

Not really. Their thing seems to be preferring the truth to lies and distortions. They have taken on self-help gurus, creationism, bottled water, abstinence, and opposition to prostitution, just to name a few.

Is everything about Wal*Mart likable and above reproach?

Absolutely not.

Perhaps they should be canonized, hunh?

If Mother Theresa can do it, anyone can. (Penn & Teller spent part of an episode talking about Mother Theresa. It was enlightening.)
Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

I'm sure Penn & Teller are just fountains of truth when it comes to Mother Theresa.

Do you have some reason I should think they lied?

Penn & Teller were neither lying nor telling the truth. They were expressing an opinion, or more like several opinions. Ad what they do may or may not involve the truth, but mostly it is entertaining. They are dead-on about bottled water and creationism, in my opinion. But they get paid to do this. Penn does, anyway. Teller is more a political  pantomimist than a commentator, since he does not speak. Slightly more expressive than a parrot, dog or cat, but not exactly an interlocutor.

Perhaps Penn is a giant ego, and teller a superego. Or perhaps Penn is an Id.

I guess not. I didn't watch the thing. I have however, seen their act before. They're up there with the likes of Al Franken when it comes to the truth.
