No wonder his show was cancelled!

  Too popular with the majority.

   Boooo...

You know this was considerable California Money spent in Atlanta.

Thanks California!

You know we are planning to have some more elections next year, If you would like to send us more money than you have ever spent on your own races ,..again...We are likely to thank you again.

I am so gratified that the per vote dollar value of Georgia votes has just set a world record.

If only this record is doomed to fall soon.

I am not much of a supervisor , but I have to suppose that I would fire a subordinate manager that very clearly did not trust me with the truth.

 Thanks...
This includes several details that I hadn't heard before.

I am not convinced at the suppositions on original motives, though I am aware that things just that stupid have indeed happened at other times.

I think it is clear to all parties that Putin would be happy to walk off with our wallets , taking into account that he is a despot and will never be a real friend , he is alright ,...considering.

I like what you are saying.

It is bad when the wrong person is chosen as president , but Presidents are like city busses, there will be another one along on schedule.

I once shared a map I had of Korea with a group of Koreans who were working here, they didn't like the bold line that marked the "border" between the North and South, they don't like the idea of the separation being permanent. I got the feeling that this was a very common attitude in Korea, might be the one thing that North and South can agree about.

Unfortunately the cold war tended to harden this unreal border, and the prosperous South is useful to the US and the western world , the crazy North is useful to China in a way that does not need prosperity.

I understand that learning to speak Chinese is a popular study in South Korea, and that many business deals are being crafted between Chinese businesses and S. Korean businesses . What might happen if South Korea becomes as usefull to China as it is to the west?

I like elegant simplicity.

Like a drawing of five strokes that conveys a thousand words of description, those paintings of ten thousand strokes that convey no more are more sophisticated without being better.

What did happen at Haymarket?

Quote
INSKEEP: Do you think that some historians were wishing away the evidence?

MESSER-KRUSE: Yes, I do.
.................................

Good discussion of the nature of history.
...............................
WEINBERGER: The truth is not a solitary thing that stands by itself, the way ink gets pressed on paper; but rather, it comes from human sources. They're fallible, and they are subject to different points of view and thus, they are in disagreement. And so it seems to me that Wikipedia, in its form - and the Web overall - is a better representation of what human truth is like.

INSKEEP: Even if not everybody can be completely satisfied. Timothy Messer-Kruse, who challenged the common view of the Haymarket trial, still cannot say that he has prevailed. If you look at the Wikipedia entry for the Haymarket affair, it includes his view now, below the quotes of other historians. Generations from now, his version of history might well become accepted truth. For now, he has to be satisfied that at least, he's part of the argument.

There really was a bomb there , but the trial never accused anyone in particular of tossing it.

There really was a conspiracy , or there was not , or people not caught were the conspiracy , the trial transcript changed this professors mind , but was he more right before he dug up the details?

What people want to be right is a thing , if what is really true is not what the people want to be true , then it is another thing.

History being a consensus of how we understand history, don't get smug about understanding even the bit you saw yourself.

I don't expect a lot of help from China.

If North Korea became rational they would gradually slide twards reunification.

A rational , unified Korea might very well be a better friend to the US than to China.

.................................... Many think primate studies is a waste of time but I actually used information from primate behavior to be a more effective worker and problem solver

This has got to be a good story.
