Rice has done NOTHING to suggest that she was unfit to be Secretary of State.

Which is why we have Secretary of State Kerry.

Rice did what she was told to do on that infamous Sunday circuit by the White House.

And the latter is whose fitness needs to be inspected.

The opinion in my first post that has sirs all persnickety about came on the second line.

Kirsten Powers: Nominating Susan Rice as Secretary of State Would Be His Undoing

Is Susan Rice the bad guy here?

My point was that her latest postings (especially at the UN) were by definition to be a regurgitator of admin talking points and therefore policy. I hope she is qualified to deeply analyze multiple points of data and draw a cohesive conclusion from that data and deliver a plan of action to her superiors because that is what her new job entails.

...Just providing information for those not aware of how our government works?  Fair enough

Nope, just popping my head in and stating my opinion. Simple as that. Trying to remember if i even read your post.

Obama gets to pick his appointments and the Senate gets to approve them.

Never claimed otherwise

Never claimed you did.

Issa is a grandstanding moron. He also is a car thief.

He was ever convicted of car theft. Does that reflect a flaw in the justice system or a flaw in his accusers word?

On the bus I dont see many ebook readers.

That's probably true, but reading books on a bus or a plane had a dual purpose, one to have something to do to pass the time and 2 to send a signal to people sitting close to you that you were busy and not to be disturbed.

Now people can text or play games or yes even read because there are more entertainment devices available too fill those needs.

People are reading a whole lot less since bookstore are disappearing.

Are they? I think they are reading more or the same, just using different methods. ie kindle.

I was picking up more of the shared cultural groupings and the need to be part of a larger group in pursuit of a common goal. But that concerns the practice of religion in some organized fashion and i think the commonality between Christianity and Buddhism is that you do not really need to belong to an organized faith to pursue either the teachings of Christ or of Buddha.

WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — A former bodyguard for Osama bin Laden is claiming the terror leader blew himself up during the U.S. special forces raid on his Abbotabad compound in Pakistan.

Nabil Naim Abdel Fattah told Gulf News that Navy SEALs did not kill the al Qaeda leader who planned the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

“U.S. special forces did not kill Osama Bin Laden. He detonated himself to avoid being captured after American forces raided his hiding place in Pakistan in 2011,” Abedel Fattah explained to Gulf News.

Abdel Fattah – the former of Egyptian Islamic Jihad — said that bin Laden “wore an explosive belt for the last 10 years of his life.”

“He insisted on never handing himself over to the Americans. The American intelligence had planned to capture him alive, but they miscalculated,” Abdel Fattah said. “He blew himself up to avoid being captured because he wanted to protect his secrets until death.”

Fattah added: “The American president lied when he claimed that Bin Laden was buried in the sea. Bin Laden’s body parts were cut into multiple pieces, which is similar to suicide attacks following the bombing, so as not to leave any clue to the U.S. forces to identify him.””

Fattah told Gulf News he was not at the compound during the raid, but he “heard what happened there from Bin Laden’s cousin.”

Bin Laden was killed on May 2, 2011, during the Navy SEAL Team 6 raid on his compound.

Sadly This story is quite plausible.

And that was not really what I saw after my years spending time in evangelical churches. I saw that people went to church to experience joy and to learn how to have more of it. These days I find that it is more helpful to think about faith as the questions people choose to focus on, rather than the propositions observers think they must hold.

If you can sidestep the problem of belief — and the related politics, which can be so distracting — it is easier to see that the evangelical view of the world is full of joy. God is good. The world is good. Things will be good, even if they don’t seem good now. That’s what draws people to church. It is understandably hard for secular observers to sidestep the problem of belief. But it is worth appreciating that in belief is the reach for joy, and the reason many people go to church in the first place.

Interesting .
