I don't think it is necessarily a slight .
What if there were only a few stairs that tall there and none of them was cranking that morning?
Who would admit this? They would rather have it seem intentional.

The Filipino president is a fool and a fascist, He is paying bounties to ordinary citizens to murder both drug users and peddlers.
National leaders should never deliberately cuss out other world leaders. That is what makes Trump especially unqualified to be president. It accomplishes nothing and often endangers minority groups in one country or the other.
Murdering al drug users and pushers was how Mao eliminated opium addiction in the PRC. It worked there because China was isolated from the rest of the world, The Philippines are 7,000 islands and cannot be isolated successfully.

Why should an American president NOT consider this an outrage? If the Chinese did not roll out the stairs that were delivered for him to use, how is that President Obama's fault?
The Philippine president said that he was not going to discuss his outrageous behavior in advance, so why should Obama meet with him if that is going to be his attitude? The US gives aid to the Philippines regularly, anhd has no obligation to do so. If you were the US president and Dutarte called you a sumbitch, would YOU meet with him?
Dutarte has since sort of apologized and Obama said that they might meet at some later date.
I fail to see that Obama has done anything wrong on his trip.

The US is no position to lecture the President of Philippines.
The U.S. federal government has willfully ignored its own laws during times of strife.
President Abraham Lincoln decided to suspend the right of habeas corpus.
Lincoln hired Sherman as a"hit-man" to kill citizens without charges.
We have also learned more recently sometimes "ya gotta do what ya gotta do".
We have learned that Saddam and Khadfi had to do what they had to do...
or something worse pops up called ISIS.

Although I do have a slightly less stark take on his intentions.....that being not so much a goal of destroying our country, but one of an uber socialist goal to have Government in charge of everything, and everyone. What better way than to import more and more people who will be completely dependent on Government services, requiring a "passionate" demand for more and more Government services
Remember one of those wonderous Obamacare promises.....the one where it won't be provided to anyone here illegally. Notice how the rhetoric is changing now....currently being pushed to cover anyone ana everyone who simply can't afford healthcare....including those here illegally??

There are more Christian Arabs in the US than Muslim Arabs.
The Christians and Druses were more closely allied to Assad than the Sunnis, but there has been more fighting inh areas with a large Christian population.
