Ouchie.
Quote
Kirk Fordham told The Associated Press that when he was told about Foley's inappropriate behavior toward pages, he had "more than one conversation with senior staff at the highest level of the House of Representatives asking them to intervene."

Aide Told Hastert About Foley 3 Years Ago

(AP) WASHINGTON A senior congressional aide said Wednesday he told House Speaker Dennis Hastert's office about worrisome conduct by his former boss, Rep. Mark Foley, toward teenage pages more than three years ago, long before officials have acknowledged becoming aware of the issue.

Could be a typo but DAMN!!!

World crumbling around wagon circlers.

I guess that's an occupational hazard, when you try to sell yourself as the party of decency and morality, the voice of the Moral Majority, etc.  It has to happen sooner or later and it sure is hilarious when it does.  I just love how they keep getting in deeper and deeper.  Tony Snow's "naughty e-mails" is a classic.  Fucking Republicans are afraid to open their mouths, they don't know when the next turd is gonna hit the fan.  But they can't keep quiet either.  This is absolutely delightful.  Maybe there IS a God after all.

from today's Daily Kos:

<<Fordham was forced to resign today as NRCC head Tom Reynolds chief of staff -- the most immediate impetus seems to be his attempts to kill the story and protect Foley as late as last Friday. As Pat Buchanan said on MSNBC when the explosive news broke, now there's "blood in the water."

<<Now Fordham's talking, and this is only going to get worse.

<<One thing all parties agree on . . . is that the GOP leadership is in complete chaos, here. The "honest" conservatives are genuinely infuriated at the betrayal, yet again, of the most basic tenets of ethics and morality, this time right in the very building. The dishonest conservatives are furious at the hamfisted, disasterous responses still happening from Hastert, Reynolds, Boehner, and the others. Hastert has almost no remaining support from any quarter.>>

This is a beautiful fix for those lying hypocritical bastards to be in.  Fucked if Hastert leaves and even more fucked if he stays.

And now, where's Denny?
From War and Piece:
'Via the Corner, where's Denny? Hastert fails to call into 6:20pm Chicago radio interview. Staff calls in to say he's on a conference call with the leadership. Leadership says he's not on the phone with them.'

It is a laugh. but, the real issue is biology: The Laws Of Man v. The Laws Of Nature. The legal age of consent does not turn on the biological clock and radical fundamentalism has failed to chasten those between the ages of 13 and 17. Reality and religion are not compatible and those who give in to there desire pay the lawyers. That is why we have laws regulating the sex of teenagers.
