He is not my favorite , but I take it as perfectly unavoidable that we will have bad presidents now and then.
Grant was an incompetent President , Harrison was a corrupt President , Nixon was dishonest (more than a President needs to be). Our Nation might have been better served by more competent , honest people in the office than these three were, but I do not accept that my dismay twards these three white men is in any way proof , nor even indication , of my hatred of white presidents.
If Jackie Robinson had been a white ball player , he might have had less hard times , but his stats would have won him a place in the hall of fame even so. He was not just the first black major league player he was a genuinely great ball player.
The first black president of the US will have a library , probably near Chicago , and a page in history books , mention in trivia games ,.....
But his stats do not lift him above the common run of Presidents.
