You can't write this stuff up
« on: October 15, 2012, 03:40:36 PM »
"The entire reason that this has become the political topic it is, is because of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan."

Thus, Stephanie Cutter, President Obama's deputy campaign manager, speaking on CNN about an armed attack on the 9/11 anniversary that left a U.S. consulate a smoking ruin and killed four diplomatic staff, including the first American ambassador to be murdered in a third of a century.

To discuss this event is apparently to "politicize" it and to distract from the real issues the American people are concerned about. For example, Obama spokesperson Jen Psaki, speaking on board Air Force One on Thursday:

"There's only one candidate in this race who is going to continue to fight for Big Bird and Elmo, and he is riding on this plane."

She's right! The United States is the first nation in history whose democracy has evolved to the point where its leader is provided with a wide-body transatlantic jet in order to campaign on the vital issue of public funding for sock puppets

Neither Big Bird nor Elmo is a sock puppet.

If there were no election in progress, this would not be a major story.

And yet, that's exactly what Obama is trying to do...make Big Bird the big story while ignoring the middle east burning up and a dead Ambassador....ON HIS WATCH, and HIS STATE DEPT'S DENYING THE EXTRA SECURITY THEY WERE PLEADING FOR

This is not an either/or situation. It was stupid for Romney to make that crack about Big Bird and PBS. Just stupid. But that and the Benghazi affair are unrelated in every way.

Juniorbush racked up more dead Americans than any president in recent times. A lot of them died because Rumsfeld had no plan for maintaining order in Iraq, and crewed up Afghanistan big time. And then 9=11 happened on his watch as well.

No, it epitomized exactly what's wrong with the current Government trend, spearheaded by irresponsible leftists, when tax dollars are subsidizing a program that makes billions all by itself.  THERE's the stupid part

But that and the Benghazi affair are unrelated in every way.

Yet, Obama & company are trying to hilight one, and shhhhsing others away from the other.  All the while the latter is FAR more an issue than Big Bird & Elmo

LOL....nice try.  Did you know Obama's racked up nearly 3x as many "dead Americans" than Bush in Afghanistan alone??  Deflect all you want, your ongoing condemnation of Bush & Rice for 911, merely because it "happened on his watch" translates into utter hypocrisy on your part, as the middle east comes completely unravled, and we have our 1st murdered Ambassador since 1979, ON HIS WATCH

What?

Seriously?

I think that burning down our embassy and killing the Ambassador along with some of his staff would be pretty big news anytime.

If there seems to be a coverup effort Watergate wil be eclipsed.

Watergate was an attempt by one party to subvert the country. The Benghazi attack was simply a snafu. It certainly did not result in thousands of Americans being killed and hundreds of thousands being driven into exile, like Juniorbush's chaotic invasion of Iraq.

This was more like the attack on the African embassies or the USS Cole. Not a major deal.

There was no embassy burned down. The Embassy is in TRIPOLI, 400 miles from Benghazi. This was an attack on a consulate.

While Benghazigate will be seen as an attempt by 1 party to cover-up a massive screw-up, that directly led to the deaths of 4 American personel

I doubt the Ambassador's family, nor those families of the others murdered will see it quite as light hearted as you.  1st Ambassador to be murdered since 1979.  And who's watch was this on again?

Watergate did not involve any fatal injurys , as far as I know there was not even a papercut inflicted .

Obama is getting caugh in dirty tricks , and if he gets re-elected more dirty tricks will turn up , if so then you will understand the heartbreak we Nixon fans went thru, if not worse.

Nixon still has fans?

The guy was a creep from the first time he ran for office.

In what particular way is he worse than Obama?

They have a lot in common, I see Obama bragging already that we are exiting Iraq, acheiving peace with Honor.

Nixon did good things of our minoritys , our economy and our international standing.

He got famous for dirty tricks , and I don't like everything about him either, but in direct comparison to Clinton , Gore , or Obama he comes off very well.

Nixon lied about a secret plan for "peace with Honor" in Vietnam. He could have simply left in an orderly fashion: instead, he stayed around and 20,000 more America died there. He provoked divisiveness. He spied on the Democrats. He used the IRS and FBI to punish his enemies, and had huge lists of them.

Obama has done NONE of that.

Re read your own statement .

Isn't President Obama right now doing exactly that?
