Regardless, nine times does seem to be overwhelming, BT. You mean to tell me that the soldier WAS SO NEEDED that he/she was sent three nine times? Come on, even if he/she was a cardiac surgeon, there are still many of those available. It does appear to indicate the strain the military is going through. If he/she were the only one qualified, then shame on the military for allowing that to happen. My experience was that you never allowed anyone to be indispensable. It is a management issue.

SpecOps units / soldiers operate differently than other groups. A number of their missions are volunteer missions. Maybe this guy has a helium elbow.

Could be I guess. I knew a guy who volunteered three times for Vietnam. He lost a brother to the Cong and wanted to "pay them back".

I mean to tell you that the reproting was so poorly done, we have no clue as to why the soldier was deployed 9 times. We are left to speculate.

Some speculalation matches preconcieved notions.

That would be too soon, in my opinion. I already have my vacation plans for next year lined up. I might be able to do it in the fall, though the following spring would be more likely.

Good point. Spring is better anyway due to hurricane season.
