Vilsack to run for president
« on: November 09, 2006, 11:19:14 AM »
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack will seek the Democratic nomination for the presidency, a senior political advisor confirms to CNN.

The retiring governor will file a statement of candidacy Thursday with the Federal Election Commission, skipping over the interim step of forming an exploratory committee to consider whether to run for the White House. He is the first major candidate to declare his intention to run for president.

"He has made his decision and there was no point in waiting," said a Vilsack advisor, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. "He wants to get started talking about his vision for the future of the country."

He might be a good candidate from the dark horse column.
I smell something burning, hope it's just my brains.
They're only dropping peppermints and daisy-chains

   Coat my eyes with butter
   Fill my ears with silver
   Stick my legs in plaster
   Tell me lies about Vietnam.

Not a chance.

Plus he was a total cock to Dean. Hence, he deserves nothing more than my disdain.

The guy who installed our furnace is for Hillary.

I mumbled something about her, and he must not have heard me, because he said, "You know, just because she's a woman doesn't mean she's not smart.  She's one hell of a smart woman and a fighter."

I think I was trying to say "But she's not far left enough for me," and he just said, "She's good enough for me, I'll vote for her."   Rural guy, goes to a tiny little church, 3 kids, married.  Self-employed HVAC.  I had no idea this part of Ohio had any support for her, but I keep meeting people who mention her, say they'll vote for her.
