It's funny how the human mind works when in overwhelming odds verbally attack the person who can make your life worst.

I've always knew it's legal to talk back to a officer. I just feel the law will not protect me if the officer has a bad day.

Agreed, I know someone who got a drubbing from having a smart mouth, but it was in a police car and out of sight, so no reprocussion to the cop.

Since then, he mostly avoids going into that county.

I have always thought that a cop with a grudge at being insulted could make up all sorts of lies and be believed, so wising off to a cop would be unwise.

If a person really wanted to piss off the cop, they could write down his car number and smear peanut butter on it, or swipe the valves from his tires  the first time it was possible. Not that I would go to the trouble.
