You shouldn't be, unless maybe it's on ground where you're expected to have some professional expertise. Otherwise, a mistake is a mistake, you just have to move on. Nobody's perfect. Go back and figure it again. Very few people get it all right the first time, and embarrassment (IMHO) just tends to inhibit people from striking out into new (and often unfamiliar) territory.
