Jeff Bezos, of Amazon fame, is building a clock inside a mountain that will run 10,000 years.

So What?

How does that do anything to make the world a better place?

In 10,000 years. we will know.

I found it interesting. Like the various things on science that Plane posts.

I did not say that it would make the world a better place. None of your posts seem to have any chance of doing this.

  That is cool.

Very thought provoking, this clock will run longer than the Pyramyds of Egypt are old , could be running when the pyramids have collapsed.

Or an earthquake could scramble its gears , or a vandal could throw sand in the gears, a monkey wrench onto the pendlum or a theif could steal some of the metal.

Remember those Buddahs in Afganistan? I think intolerance is a worser danger to this clock than earthquake.

And of course after the entire mountain has eroded into the sea to become beach sand Neil Armstrong's footprint is quite likly to still be on the moon at the foot of the Eagle.

I am pretty sure that Texas will not be a beach in 10,000 years. Perhaps in a million, not in 10,000. This is in a mountain.

I think it is pretty interesting, and I hope vandalism will not be a problem.

Vandals are idiots.
