He is a grown man who plays with an odd-shaped ball for money.

He has become famous for saying his prayers on a sports field.

He is an entertainer who has discovered how to distinguish himself from other oversized guys who dress alike.

If this is a big deal for you, that says more about you than Tebow.

"He seems like a fine young man, leader, and example for youth.
BTW...a doctor told his Mother she should abort him.
Tim Tebow is a miracle beyond his major football accomplishments!"

The Patriots didn't pick him up to be an example for youth, or to preach about supernatural miracles. In fact he'll be doing far less of that if he plays for this team. The New England Patriots are a group effort, not a collection of individuals.

Tim Tebow is a miracle beyond his major football accomplishments!"

=================================================
Football accomplishments are hardly major. Certainly not on a par with repairing a transmission or writing a software program. Maybe even not on a par with winning "American Idol" or "So you think you can dance".

There is nothing even remotely "miraculous" about throwing a ball, catching a ball, running with a ball or dressing like other large numbered men.

He is not a miracle because his mother chose not to abort him.

I think the term "miracle" refers to something that occurs despite the physical laws of the universe: curing diseases with the touch of the hand, levitating, transforming one substance into another, leaping tall buildings in a single bound, bending cold steel with one's bare hands, flying faster than a speeding bullet. Perhaps even virgin birth, but that one requires strict supervision.

What miracle has Tebow performed?

Get serious.

Sure, if you get your jollies from watching him play with a ball or pray in front of admiring masses, that is fine by me. But a miracle? Get effing serious!

If there was anything miraculous about Tim Tebow he'd still be with the Jets. They need a miracle about now.

Good point.

His Christian walk and his football play can be considered seaprately.

Even if he doesn't seaparate them himself , that is what the owner and coaches must do.

Boy you guys sure are All-Star Kill-Joys...
Take a bow...maybe one day others can be as miserable and critical as you!

XO doesnt enjoy or understand sports....big deal.
Millions and millions of people across the world enjoy sports competition.
There is something endearing & valuable about relaxation....it's good for the soul/mind
millions relax by enjoying watching sports competition.
just like some songs give me goosebumps
my brother doesnt like music much
i feel it's a blessing to be "touched" by music
It brings many people joy to watch people that are such masters at their craft in athletic events.
And being so good at something that so many enjoy
earns them millions of dollars because almost no one on earth can do what they do.
where as people repairing transmissions...no disrespect...but reality says they are a dime a dozen
who really cares if XO thinks JoeBob mechanic should make more than Michael Jordan.

Tim Tebow is a miracle on so many levels
starting with his Mom's doctor suggested aborting him...
Thank God she didnt...thank God she chose LIFE!
Thus Tim has gone on to graduate college, win the Heisman Memorial Trophy Award,
won a college National Championship, been drafted in the NFL first round,
and created a foundation of charity that is pursuing things like the
"Tebow CURE Hospital" to serve deserving children of the Philippines,
an Orphan Care outreach serves hundreds of children who have been left homeless
or abandoned. Currently supporting the care of more than 650 orphans throughout East Asia.
Yeah Tebow is actually being a leader and changing people's lives,

As Patriots fans, here in the Athens of America, we are only interested in one thing, can he contribute to the Patriots or not? All the rest is just populist theater that interests us not one iota.

What the media is fascinated with is a story. But if, and that's a big if, Tebow plays for the Patriots, Belichick won't allow a circus.

If we assume that Tebow didn't get aborted (which sounds suspiciously like an urban legend to me), this was hardly HIS miracle. It was his mother that made the decision. I don't think not being aborted is any sort of miracle. There are 8 billion people on this planet who are miraculous by that definition, along with every gnat, turtle, harp seal and fruitbat that has managed to stay alive.

He is just an entertainer with a gimmick. Perhaps the gay basketballer has also found a gimmick as well. It is less successful because I can't recall his name. And of course, he does not mince about to show he is gay the way that Tebow does his kneeling prayer schtick. These guys are ENTERTAINERS. Overpaid for what they do, in my opinion, but in the case of NFL players they pay the price. Lots of them go broke after a career that is necessarily short, and most don't make it to 65.

Well Tebow became famous for winning the Heisman Trophy at University of Florida and appearing on two BCS National Championship winning teams. So the guy is a proven winner and that's basically why the Patriots picked him up. They like football players who are committed to winning. The press has kept his story going because he's a jesus freak who isn't shy about flashing that around in a rather odd fashion. In fact the guy is rather odd period. Just how the Patriots use him, if he makes the team, no one yet knows. He won't be playing quarterback on this team because we have arguably the best quarterback in the league in Tom Brady.

I wish we had more "odd" star athletes like Tim Tebow!
What is there not to like about this guy?
