STRONGSVILLE, Ohio -- Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson is promoting his return to the ring, but he's campaigning for Maryland U.S. Senate candidate Michael Steele at the same time.
In Strongsville, Ohio Tuesday, Tyson wore a white and blue Steele for U.S. Senate T-shirt and said he used to believe black Republicans were "sellouts."
The 40-year-old Tyson said "We have to open our eyes more."
Tyson's former manager, Don King, campaigned with Steele on Monday in Maryland.

My guess is it depends on what constituency you are talking to.

Tyson and King are both anti plantation mentality type folks. And they seem to recognize the same attribute in Steele. And to some fence sitters who Tyson and King may have influence that could be a factor in tilting them.

I see this more as a rift in the dem status quo than a slur on the GOP.

Actually, judging by democrat attempts to re-enfranchise felons, one could assume that most felons were democrat leaning.

And my respecting Tyson's rights to tattoo himself as he pleases has nothing to do with whether i would do that. I'm just glad he doesn't need a permission slip from you or some other nanny stater to express himself as he sees fit.
