Physical description
Large wooden ditty box with cameo apertures inset on the inside of the box lid - the left-side shows a formal black and white image of a woman, the box contains the following material: Princess Mary Gift Box containing a circular lens enclosed within original wrapper inscribed 'Old Lenses from Order No.', a Gibraltar stamp value one penny folded in a piece of blue paper, two pencil stubs, two safety pins, one hair pin, one round black small button, a gold-coloured metal crucifix, one souvenir miniature horseshoe in white metal, one religious gold metal medallion, one double-sided circular pendant containing sepia photographs, one miniature silver metal knife, one small silver metal key, two bone? miniature batons inscribed EXCELLO, four pairs of cuff links, two non-identical cuff links, one small length of chain, one single link, one British War Medal 1914-1919 ribbon fragment, two Victory Medal ribbon fragments, two 1914-15 Star medal ribbon fragments, one medal bar displaying two medal ribbons (LSGC and 1914-15 Star) and one unidentifiable metal component, One black leather box with green velvet lining containing a cut-throat razor WUG make. One small penknife with black plastic handle.. One small brown leather purse inscribed 'Mother' containing a 1941 farthing. One wooden stamp reading E. STEVENS. One silver metal lighter with lid.
