He will slay gas pumps?

You actually believe that this loudmouth pizza baron has even the teensiest chance of getting the GOP nomination? He has never been elected to anything. He got 26% of the vote when he ran for senator. Maybe he might beat out Ron Paul.

Uh?
What are you talking about?

You actually believe that this loudmouth pizza baron has even the teensiest chance of getting the GOP nomination?
Did I say that or are you lying again?
I have no idea who will be the GOP nominee.
I think Obama has a HUGE problem with gas prices.
If Obama doesn't solve this problem....
Almost anyone will beat him...including Herman Cain.

Herman Cain will not get the nomination. The GOP is not about to run one Black guy who cannot get over 26% of the local vote to run against another Black guy.

Never gonna happen.

Never.

Wait and see.

The problem is that the GOP has no candidate who can win. None.

The President can open the petroleum reserves in September or October 2012, can't he? I bet Herman Cain could not do that.

The one racial group that votes strictly along racial lines could be split , and why not?

Herman Cain is not the only black guy that feels more like a conservative than a liberal.

I hardly think that Cain would split any votes.

Cain being a "conservative" is no plus. All the conservatives want to do is suck up to the oligarchy.

So-called "Conservatives" do not want to conserve anything except the power of the oligarchy.
William F. Buckley was the heir to an oil fortune. So that the Kochs. The Cato Institute would not exist without money from the Oligarchy.

People who are NOT billionaires and call themselves conservatives are clueless, for the most part. They are simply being used. They are tools.

Herman Cain wows Ga. GOP

By Walter C. Jones - Athens Banner-Herald

Published Saturday, May 14, 2011

MACON ? Herman Cain repeatedly brought Georgia Republicans to their feet cheering as he brought his presidential campaign to the state party?s convention today.

He promised to draw on management skills developed in 40 years in business. Those ideas included immediately lowering taxes, a one-year holiday on payroll taxes and then switch to the Fair Tax plan for replacing the income tax with a national sales tax.

?It?s time to tell the people the truth, lower taxes are good for the economy, and we don?t have any intention of hurting old people, children or puppy dogs,? said Cain, a one-time chairman of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank.

He also called for privatizing Social Security and giving states authority to enforce immigration laws. And, he would repeal the federal health reform as one example of the crises the country is mired in.

?You and I know we have become a nation of crises,? he said, listing economic, energy, entitlement-spending, immigration and national-security crises. ?Most of all, we have a deficiency of leadership crisis in the White House.?

Cain plans to announce his candidacy next Saturday at an Atlanta rally. Although he?s not well funded and hasn?t served in elective office, his blunt talk and quips have been gaining a following among conservatives in some early-primary states.

Another native son, Newt Gingrich, addressed some of the delegates Friday night at the party?s sold-out Victory Dinner. Gingrich was the party?s only member in the congressional delegation in the early years of his two-decades in office and the party?s darling in those years.

?I?m delighted to be home,? he said.

But many of the delegates got involved in politics after Gingrich resigned his seat in 1998.

Cain launched his presidential run after listeners to his radio show urged him. His evening show on clear-channel WSB-AM began after his unsuccessful run for the U.S. Senate in 2004 when he lost the GOP primary to then-U.S. Rep. Johnny Isakson. His first moment in the national spotlight was as a CEO of Godfather?s Pizza when he challenged President Bill Clinton at a televised town hall meeting on that president?s health reform proposal.

Cain grew up in Atlanta where his father was a chauffeur for the Coca-Cola Co. chief. Cain started his climb up the corporate ladder at Coke after six years in the U.S. Navy. From Coke, he went to Pillsbury and then was instrumental in a management buyout of Godfather?s Pizza.

He has degrees in math and computer science.

For many Ga. GOP-ers, Newt no Cain
By: Kendra Marr

MACON, Ga. ? It had all the trappings of a homecoming. Newt Gingrich, the former House speaker who helped Republicans rise to power in this once-solid Democratic state, returned Friday deliver his first speech as a presidential candidate before thousands of state GOP delegates.

But ahead of Gingrich?s scheduled address Friday evening, party activists were buzzing about another favorite son ? Herman Cain.

?He doesn?t talk political,? said Jeanette Bean, a Gwinnett County delegate who was passing out Draft Cain stickers. ?He talks straight. He doesn?t mince his words and says it how it is. It?s so refreshing,?

Plenty of other attendees seemed to agree. Kicking off the two-day convention, Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss gave a shout out to both Georgia natives. ?We?ve got Newt Gingrich,? he said, which earned a whistle of approval from one member of the audience.

When Chambliss added, ?We?ve got Herman Cain,? loud whoops, cheers and applause were heard.

Among convention goers, Gingrich was more of a secondary thought. ?We?re very excited to see Cain ? and of course, Newt,? said Deborah McCord, a Columbia County delegate.

Cain, a Morehouse College graduate, plans to announce his presidential candidacy on May 21 at Centennial Park in downtown Atlanta. But he?s already lined up quite a fan base ? especially among tea party activists, a group Cain has been diligently courting.

Here, Georgia Republican Party members gushed over the former talk show host?s business savvy. Before he was CEO and president of Godfather?s Pizza ? his best known business venture ? Cain worked for Coca-Cola and Pillsbury, served at the helm of the National Restaurant Association and was appointed to the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, later becoming its chairman.

?He?s actually run a business, met payroll and understands that you can?t go around spending whatever you want,? said Bean.

Kay Goodwin, a Pierce County delegate who has known Cain since his unsuccessful 2004 Senate bid, said the excitement around Cain actually began building at last year?s state convention.

?He cares about the issues I care about: smaller government, less taxes, pro-life, strong defense,? she said, proudly sporting a Herman Cain button. ?He?s adamant about the issues. He?s passionate. Praise the Lord he?s around.?

What about Gingrich? ?We?ll just smile,? she said.

Enthusiastic praise for Cain was frequently sprinkled with subtle jabs at his home-state competition.

?He does not have some of the personal baggage ?? said Bulloch County Chair Roger Allen said of Gingrich, pausing to better phrase his thoughts. ?The choices he?s made hasn?t given ammo to some of his detractors.?

?It?s important to me the stand he takes on moral issues,? said Pat Tippett, co-chairwoman of Georgia Conservatives in Action, said of Cain. ?He?s been married to the same wonderful woman for 43 years.?

?He?s not a politician,? said Karan Bumann, a delegate from Jasper County.

John Lawrence, an alternate delegate from Gwinnett County, laid out the criteria for his ideal 2012 candidate: ?What we all want is a crusader ? someone who will rise to the top and storm the gates of hell with a water pistol. No one?s met those standards.?

?Maybe Herman has,? interjected his friend John Crayton, a Gwinnett delegate.

?Oh yeah, definitely Herman,? Lawrence said.

So what?
And John Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, and Teddy Kennedy were born into a wealth dynasty.
So was Demorcatic Senator John Rockefeller born into a wealth dynasty.
John Kerry married into huge wealth and was the richest Member of Congress in 2010.

I don't think Buckley was elected to anything either.
So what gives?

All those people that you cite were elected into high office yet Buckley was just a citizen. XO is just a hypocrite and too partisan to admit he's partisan. If you go back and recall many of XO's posts several reveal his obvious jealousy over other people wealth and prosperity. Classic Socialist attitude. Basically a thief in that they want to confiscate other peoples money for their own use because they are too lazy or too stupid to go out and earn it on their own.

Businessman Cain enters 2012 GOP presidential race

Herman Cain has run a pizza chain, hosted a talk radio show and sparred with Bill Clinton over health care. He's never held elected office. Now the tea party favorite wants to be president.

"In case you accidentally listen to a skeptic or doubting Thomas out there, just to be clear ... I'm running for president of the United States, and I'm not running for second," he told a crowd at Centennial Olympic Park on Saturday. Chants of "Herman" erupted from the crowd of thousands in downtown Atlanta.

The announcement by the businessman, author and radio talk show host that he was joining the expanding Republican field came after months of traveling around the country to introduce himself to voters.

Now the 65-year-old will see if he can use that grass-roots enthusiasm to turn a long-shot campaign into a credible bid.

Cain supports a strong national defense, opposes abortion, backs replacing the federal income tax with a national sales tax and favors a return to the gold standard. He said President Barack Obama "threw Israel under the bus" because he sought to base Mideast border talks partly on the pre-1967 war lines, and criticized the Justice Department for challenging Arizona's tough crackdown on illegal immigration.

"We shouldn't be suing Arizona," he said to cheers. "We ought to send them a prize."

Cain lost a three-way Republican U.S. Senate primary bid in Georgia in 2004 with one-quarter of the vote. His "Hermanator" political action committee has taken in just over $16,000 this year. He said he's running "a bottoms-up, outside-the-box campaign." Supporters say he taps into the tea party-fueled desire for plain-speaking citizen candidates.

Born in Memphis, Tenn., and raised in Atlanta, Cain is the son of a chauffeur and a maid. He attended historically black Morehouse College, earned a master's degree from Purdue University and worked as a mathematician for the Navy before beginning to scale the corporate ladder.

He worked at Coca-Cola, Pillsbury and Burger King before taking the helm of the failing Godfather's Pizza franchise, which he rescued by shuttering hundreds of restaurants.

He burst onto the political stage when he argued with President Clinton over the Democrat's health care plan at a 1994 town hall meeting.

"On behalf of all of those business owners that are in a situation similar to mine," asked Cain, "my question is, quite simply, if I'm forced to do this, what will I tell those people whose jobs I will have to eliminate?"

The late Jack Kemp, the GOP vice presidential nominee in 1996, once described Cain as having "the voice of Othello, the looks of a football player, the English of Oxfordian quality and the courage of a lion."

In 2006, Cain was diagnosed with liver and colon cancer. He says he's been cancer-free since 2007 and credits the nation's health care system with keeping him alive. He says it's one reason he's so opposed to the health overhaul championed by Obama.

At the speech, Cain tried to build a foundation for his run for the White House. He said the American dream is under attack from runaway debt, a stagnant economy, a muddled foreign policy and an influx of illegal immigrants. He said Americans should be infuriated because the Obama administration's $787 billion stimulus program "didn't stimulate diddly."

"It's time to get real, folks. Hope and change ain't working," he said. "Hope and change is not a solution. Hope and change is not a job."

Sure can't say he's an "insider" (http://townhall.com/news/politics-elections/2011/05/21/businessman_cain_enters_2012_gop_presidential_race)

So....
Hope and change won't work.

Electing this blowhard would be a change.

And to be without hope is hardly any sort of rallying cry.

The reality is that Herman Cain's candidacy is a waste of his time and our time. He's not going anywhere.
=============================================

And Big Oil money is hardly the same as the Kennedy fortune. The entire oil industry is corrupt by its very nature.
There is a hole in the ground and something is coming out. What it is and how much there is, is amazingly easy to lie about. Because oil is many different viscosities, the gauges used at the wellhead and everywhere else are adjustable, and perhaps only one person understands the setting at any given time.

Buckley was an oil man who never actually worked at anything other than defending the fortune he inherited for his entire life. The Koch brothers are almost identical, and even cruder in their machinations.

Saying Kennedy was rich does not lessen the degree of corruption inherent in the Buckleys or the Kochs, by the way: these are entirely unrelated.

Obama and Cain could not be more different.

Cain is a blowhard, whose tactic is to blast out a lot of meaningless patriotic jingoism, while Obama is the King of Cool, and  avoids most of this.

===============================================
So, you believe that he might make a better compote?

We know that President Obama got the nomination of a national political after being elected to the senate.

We know that Herman Cain failed to get the nomination for senator. 26%. He came in second.

And now we shall see how he fails to get the nomination.

It will be droll to see how you turn these defeats of Cain into anything anyone could call "competency"

=========================
He MIGHT make a better compote, but I think that a compote made from human flesh would be unappetizing in the extreme.

Not a very good pun, but a pun, nevertheless.

Most people have seen part of ONE sermon by Rev. Wright, and concluded that all his sermons were alike, I doubt this.

Most sermons tend to draw from about ten places in the Bible and the preacher tends to say "so-and-so sinned in this way. Try not to imitate him", without actually pointing out any examples in real life.
