The Tyranosaurus Rex bore very small arms, but had teeth the size of Bananas.

Triceratops bore horns , stegasourus bore thagomizers on their tails.

There seems to have been a sort of arms race among giant lizards.

Whatever changes evolved in dinosaurs, they probably helped it adapt to their environment. Not necessarily our environment.

A T. Rex does not seem to be a very clever design, but then again, neither does a camel and many other creatures.
